BOYS BASKETBALL: Morgan helps Panthers roll past Shadow Ridge

Ja Morgan scored 24 points Friday as Palo Verde’s boys basketball team rolled to an 88-51 win at Shadow Ridge.

Grant Dressler had 18 points, and Taylor Miller scored 16 for the Panthers, who led 62-41 after three quarters.

Kevin Branch had 15 points, and teammate Melvin Johnson scored 12 for the Mustangs.

Del Sol 80, Boulder City 50 — At Boulder City, Noah Spearman scored 14 points as the Dragons routed the Eagles.

Brian Greer and Ganny Belloni each scored 13 points for Del Sol, which had 10 players score.

Boulder City’s Tyler Newby scored 17 points.

Bishop Gorman 85, Durango 53 — At Durango, Zach Collins had 15 points, and Chase Jeter scored 13 as the Gaels routed the Trailblazers.

Stephen Zimmerman added 10 points for Gorman, which had 13 players score.

Apollo Corley led Durango with 19 points.

Virgin Valley 50, Tech 45 — At Tech, Zach Barnum led a balanced attack with 10 points as the Bulldogs held off the Roadrunners.

Crawford Linden had 14 points to lead the Roadrunners, who trimmed a 37-19 third-quarter deficit to three points in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t get closer.

Elijah Wesley added 12 points for Tech.

Chaparral 62, Sunrise Mountain 44 — At Sunrise Mountain, Marc Silas hit five 3-pointers and scored 27 points as the Cowboys downed the Miners.

Chaparral made nine 3-pointers.

Damon Heard scored 15 points to lead the Miners.

Clark 68, Spring Valley 41 — At Spring Valley, Colby Jackson scored 18 points as the Chargers surged past the Grizzlies.

Ty’Rek Wells and Carter Olsen each scored 11 points for Clark, which jumped out to a 32-19 halftime lead.

Carl Albert led Spring Valley with 14 points.

Cheyenne 70, Western 47 — At Western, Joseph Rose led four double-figure scorers with 17 points as the Desert Shields beat the Warriors.

Ulises Santillan and William Moore each added 11 points, and teammate David Rose scored 10 for Cheyenne.

Wyatt Rozea led Western with 12 points. Kwan Carter added 11 points for the Warriors, and teammate Zamond Washington scored 10.

Faith Lutheran 68, Pahrump Valley 39 — At Pahrump, Bryce Neagle scored 19 points as the Crusaders ran away from the Trojans.

John Molchon added 12 points, and Zach Friel scored 10 for Faith Lutheran, which led 37-11 at the half.

T.J. Milk led Pahrump with 12 points.

Desert Pines 62, Moapa Valley 20 — At Overton, Trevon Abdullah scored 20 points to help the Jaguars top the Pirates.

Capri Uzan added 15 points for Desert Pines, which led 31-13 at halftime.

The Meadows 51, Needles 49 — At Needles, Calif., Asheesh Chopra hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to spark the win for The Meadows.

Needles led 30-28 going into the fourth quarter, but Chopra’s 3-pointers helped The Meadows push the lead to 11 with 3:32 to go.

Needles was able to get within two, but was unable to get a tying shot after getting the ball back with four seconds to go.

Ethan Fridman led The Meadows with 16 points, and teammate Jake Epstein scored 13.

Derek Wagstaff scored 12 points and Cody Tobler 10 for Needles.

Mountain View 60, White Pine 39 — At Ely, Tyrell Brooks had 13 points to lead the Saints by the Bobcats.

Connor LeBoeuf added 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals, and Christian Bennett had 12 points — all on 3-pointers — for Mountain View, which led 55-26 after three quarters.

Chris Young and Cody Bennett each had 11 points, and Sam Stewart scored 10 for White Pine.

Agassi Prep 77, Calvary Chapel 49 — At Calvary Chapel, Deishuan Booker scored 22 points to help the Stars down the Lions.

Akeemis Williams, Darius Coaxum and Dennis Walker each had nine points for Agassi Prep, which led 40-22 at the half.

Matthew Harney led Calvary Chapel with 25 points.

Lincoln County 61, Lake Mead 26 — At Panaca, McClain O’Connor and Derek Shumway each scored 14 points to lead the Lynx by the Eagles.

Mike Wood added 10 points for Lincoln County, which led 32-13 at halftime.

Trey Vetter led Lake Mead with six points.

Indian Springs 32, Lund 17 — At Indian Springs, Sebastian Smith and Donald Watkins each scored eight points as the Thunderbirds topped the Mustangs for their first win of the season.

Julian Peete added six points for Indian Springs, which outscored Lund 11-5 in the third quarter to pull away.

Round Mountain 49, Sandy Valley 33 — At Sandy Valley, Garrett Cecchini had 19 points to lead the Knights over the Sidewinders.

Bryce Hunter added 12 points for Round Mountain, which led 19-6 after one quarter.

Wyatt Robinson had 15 points, and teammate James Rau scored 12 for Sandy Valley.

Beaver Dam 52, Beatty 35 — At Littlefield, Ariz., Eddy Castro had 18 points to help the Diamondbacks down the Hornets.

Carlos Sherrill added 13 points for Beaver Dam, which led 32-5 at the half.

Nikolas Zamora paced Beatty with 12 points.
