BOYS BASKETBALL: Sevonyae Smith, Aggies hold off Green Valley

Sevonyae Smith had 16 points and 14 rebounds Thursday to lead Arbor View’s boys basketball team to a 65-63 win over visiting Green Valley.

Jesse Vogel had 21 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Aggies, who outsored the Gators 24-11 in the second quarter to take a 35-26 halftime lead.

Comillion Smith had 15 points and six assists for Arbor View.

Xavier Jarvis led Green Valley with 21 points, and teammate Canyon Lewis scored 20.

Silverado 52, Rancho 46 — At Silverado, Matthew Arnold scored 21 points, and the Skyhawks used a 12-7 third-quarter edge to break a 24-all halftime tie and down the Rams.

Jordan Waugh added nine points for Silverado.

Keith Davis led Rancho with 17 points, and teammate Lamont Traylor scored 10.

Chaparral 64, Del Sol 61 — At Chaparral, Robin Rosales hit a 3-pointer late in the game, and Samuel Porras hit a pair of free throws to seal the Cowboys’ win over the Dragons.

Marc Silas led all scorers with 26 points, and teammate Ben Kirschbaum added 11 points for the Cowboys.

Bo Beagle scored 17 points to lead the Dragons.

Jonathan Spearman added 16 points, and Jamal McGruder had 12 points for Del Sol.

Sunrise Mountain 71, Boulder City 54 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tyri White had 20 points as the Miners topped the Eagles.

Steven Adeymi scored six of his 15 points in the first quarter for Sunrise Mountain as the Miners took a 20-6 lead.

Adeymi added nine rebounds, and Trevor White scored 12 points for Sunrise Mountain.

Zach Murphy paced Boulder City with 15 points. Justus Greene added 14 points, and teammate Carson Balistere scored 12 for the Eagles.

Coronado 80, Colony (Alaska) 72 — At Wasilla, Alaska, Jake DesJardins had 29 points and eight rebounds to lead the Cougars past the Knights in the Don Larson Roundball Classic.

Kennedy Koehler added 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Cougars advanced to the semifinals.

Travis Boman added 10 points and eight boards, and Trey Hurlburt scored 10 for the Cougars.

Nick Davis dished out five assists for Coronado.

Alex Nygard scored 21 points to lead Colony.

Bonanza 65, Moapa Valley 35 — At Overton, Jamal Logan scored 17 points to lead the Bengals in a rout of the Pirates.

Davian Jordan and Garnet Walters each scored eight points for Bonanza.

Nate Cox scored 15 points to lead Moapa Valley.

Denver East (Colo.) 68, Foothill 44 — At Lahaina, Hawaii, Deron Harrell scored 15 points to lead the Angels by the Falcons in the Lahainaluna Invitational.

Kwane Marble and Daytone Jennings each had 13 points for Denver East.

Eric Johnson led Foothill with nine points.

Mountain View 58, Laughlin 11 — At Laughlin, Tyrell Brooks had 16 points to help the Saints rout the Cougars.

Christian Bennett added 15 points, and Tevin Gray scored 12 for Mountain View, which led 42-7 at the half.

Corey Anderson and Michael Bishop each had four points for Laughlin.

Adelson School JV 60, Indian Springs 40 — At Indian Springs, Jay Barth scored 12 points in a losing effort as the Thunderbirds fell to the Lions’ junior varsity.

Sebastian Smith added 11 points for Indian Springs, which was outscored 22-8 in the fourth quarter.
