BOYS BASKETBALL: Simeon drains 10 3-pointers in rout of Gorman

Zack Norvell hit five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points Saturday to lead Simeon (Ill.) to a 75-45 win over Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team in the Cancer Research Classic in Wheeling, W.Va.

Edward Morrow added 18 points, and Isaiah Moss scored 14 points for the Wolverines, who made 10 of 14 3-point attempts.

Simeon used a 17-5 run to finish the first half and open a 36-22 halftime lead.

Chase Jeter and Stephen Zimmerman each had 12 points to lead the Gaels, who committed 21 turnovers.

Findlay Prep 72, Pinnacle (Ariz.) 48 — At Scottsdale, Ariz., Allonzo Trier scored 27 points to lead the Pilots by the Pioneers in the HoopHall West Classic.

Derryck Thornton added 16 points and five assists for Findlay Prep, which used a 14-5 second-quarter run to build a 39-22 halftime lead.

Agassi Prep 90, Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 57 — At Kingman, Ariz., tournament Most Valuable Player Deishuan Booker had 32 points and 10 assists to lead the Stars by the Knights in the championship game of the Colorado River Holiday Classic.

Akeemis Williams added 15 points for Agassi Prep, which led 33-17 after one quarter and never looked back.

Agassi Prep 73, Mohave (Ariz.) 35 — At Kingman, Ariz., Booker had 24 points and nine assists as the Stars pulled away from the Thunderbirds in a semifinal game of the Colorado River Holiday Classic.

Williams added 14 points for Agassi Prep, which outscored Mohave, 44-17 in the middle quarters.

Agassi Prep 81, Kingman Academy (Ariz.) 49 — At Kingman, Ariz., Booker racked up 24 points and 12 assists to lead the Stars by the Tigers in a Colorado River Holiday Classic quarterfinal.

Kobe Williams added 18 points, and Darius Coaxum scored 12 for Agassi Prep, which got 11 points from Kenneth Hatano.
