Clark boys basketball coach Chad Beeten confirmed on Monday afternoon that junior-to-be Sedrick Hammond “has left the program.”

The 6-foot-2-inch, 160-pound Hammond is the state’s top recruit in the class of 2019, according to Scout.com.

As a sophomore last season, Hammond came off the bench and averaged 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game for the Chargers, who fell to Bishop Gorman 62-58 in the Class 4A state final.

Beeten, who returned to Clark in May after a brief stint at Crossroads School (California), led Clark to three consecutive state Division I-A state titles from 2014-2016. He was re-hired after the firing of Colin Darfour in March.

Hammond — a four-star recruit on ESPN.com — holds scholarship offers from Arizona State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV and UNR, among others.
