HOLIDAY CLASSIC: Newby, Eagles roll past Calvary Chapel

Tyler Newby didn’t light up the scoreboard on Friday.

But the junior scored 10 points and played a key role in leading Boulder City to a 50-27 win over Calvary Chapel on the second day of the Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament at Lake Mead.

“Tyler Newby kind of makes us go,” Boulder City coach John Balistere said. “He’s a great basketball player (and) we run a lot of our sets through him. He does so many things for us with and without the ball. He demands a lot of attention.”

“Much better effort today than we had yesterday on both ends of the floor,” Balistere said. “We always try to be the aggressor on both ends. Overall, I was much happier with our effort in all phases of the game.”
