Class 4A

1. Bishop Gorman (9-1, Last week 2) — The six-time defending state champions are back on top after winning the Tarkanian Classic.

2. Clark (11-1, LW 1) — The Chargers drop a spot after falling in the championship game of the Tarkanian Classic.

3. Coronado (7-1, LW 4) — The Cougars have to like where they are after a 3-1 showing in the Tarkanian Classic.

4. Canyon Springs (6-1, LW 5) — The Pioneers lost their first game Tuesday, but bump up a spot in this week’s rankings.

5. Foothill (7-3, LW 3) — Going 1-3 in the Tarkanian Classic slides the Falcons down two spots.

6. Faith Lutheran (12-1, LW 6) — The Crusaders are making themselves hard to ignore with their start to the year.

7. Arbor View (12-4, LW 7) — The Aggies proved they can play with anyone, and split their four Tarkanian Classic games.

8. Desert Oasis (8-5, LW 8) — The Diamondbacks host the Tri-State Holiday Invitational this week.

9. Liberty (5-5, LW 9) — Sitting at a .500 record, just wait until the Patriots start consistently playing Nevada teams.

10. Cimarron-Memorial (7-3, LW 10) — The Spartans are back to work this week after a week to catch their breath.

Class 3A

1. Cheyenne (6-6, LW 1) — No movement in Class 3A this week, so the Desert Shields are still No. 1.

2. Desert Pines (5-4, LW 2) — A young Jaguars team could pounce on league opponents after gaining valuable experience in the Tarkanian Classic.

3. Chaparral (6-2, LW 3) — The Cowboys are competing in the Las Vegas Prep Championship at Las Vegas High this week.

4. Sunrise Mountain (7-2, LW 4) — The Tri-State Holiday Tournament at Desert Oasis will be a good test to see how good the Miners can be.

5. Boulder City (8-3, LW 5) — The Eagles took last week off, and are playing in California this week.

Class 2A

1. Democracy Prep (12-2, LW 1) — The Blue Knights were the only Class 2A local team in the Tarkanian Classic, and went 3-1.

2. The Meadows (7-4, LW 3) — The Mustangs are still undefeated in league play.

3. Adelson School (4-4, LW 2) — The Vegas Invitational at Mountain View awaits the Lions this week.

4. Needles (11-5, LW 4) — The Mustangs went 3-1 in their tournament in Arizona last week.

5. Lincoln County (3-6, LW 5) — The Lynx have a chance to prove themselves in the Tr-State Holiday Invitational this week.

Class 1A

1. Pahranagat Valley (8-2, LW 1) — The Panthers: still No. 1.

2. Spring Mountain (7-4, LW 2) — The Golden Eagles are in the Vegas Invitational this week.

3. Beatty (3-2, LW 3) — The Hornets are off until the new year.

4. Indian Springs (2-3, LW 4) — The Thunderbirds aren’t playing again until Jan. 11.

5. Word of Life (1-5, LW 5) — It’s tough to see the Eagles’ fortunes not turning around once league play starts.
