ROCK CLASSIC: Littlefield, Lake Mead coast into title game
Landon Littlefield led three players in double figures with 18 points on Saturday as Lake Mead routed Beatty, 62-18, in the semifinals of the Rock Holiday Classic at Henderson International.
The Eagles play Windermere Prep (Fla.) in the championship game at 8 p.m. on Monday.
De’Quan Thompson added 15 points for Lake Mead, which held Beatty scoreless in the first and third quarters. L.J. Yamzon scored 10 for the Eagles.
The Hornets only managed six points by halftime. Ivan Hernandez led Beatty with four points.
Windermere Prep (Fla.) 65, Henderson International 40 — Windermere Prep overcame a 14-10 first-quarter deficit to cruise past the Wolverines, 65-40.
Mitchell Ford led the Lakers with 20 points. Michael Stones added 19 and T.J. Bullock scored 15 for Windermere.
Henderson International’s Jay Sutorius scored 14 of his team-high 18 points in the second half. The Wolverines will face Beatty on Monday in the third-place game.
Cal Rivera contributed 10 points for the Wolverines.
Lake Mead JV 52, Indian Springs 23 — The Thunderbirds scored only 14 points in the first half as Lake Mead’s JV team stormed to a 52-23 win.
Bryan Scott led the Eagles with 17 points.
Brock Roadhouse led Indian Springs with 12 points.
Trinity 63, Word of Life 3 — Tyler Watts had 23 points as the Thunder routed Word of Life Academy.
Trinity held a 33-3 halftime lead as Watts shot 6-for-6 rom the field.
Chris Bautista added 10 points for the Thunder.
Joe Visser scored Word of Life’s only points on a 3-pointer in the second quarter.
GIRLS
Calvary Christian (Calif.) 32, Calvary Chapel 25 — Anna Duerden scored seven points, and the Lions led 11-5 after the first quarter,
but couldn’t hold on against the Knights.
Christina Cobb led Calvary Christian with 16 points.
Trinity 34, Indian Springs 26 — The Thunder used a 13-5 fourth quarter to pull away from the the Thunderbirds.
Trinity’s Andrea Martinez led all scorers with 19 points. Brittany Kersenbrock added six points for the Thunder.
Kristina Espinoza had nine points for Indian Springs.
Beatty 29, Henderson International 19 — Beatty held the Wolverines to just four points in the middle two quarters on its way to the win.
Alejandra Gonzalez paced the Hornets with nine points.
Brittany Huff scored 10 points for the Wolverines.
Lake Mead 62, Liberty JV 45 — Jordan Clarke scored 26 points, and Lake Mead overcame an early 18-10 deficit to advance to the championship game against Beatty.
Emily Dean added 14 points and Jocelyn Cox 12 for the Eagles.
