Roundup: Big third quarter propels Canyon Springs by Durango

Alexander Spaight scored 25 points, and Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team used a 22-13 third quarter run to beat visiting Durango, 79-64, on Thursday night.

Tommie Anderson had 10 points, and Christopher Ward added nine points for Canyon Springs, which knocked down six 3-pointers.

Anthony Hunter scored a game-high 34 points, and Keshon Gilbert had 11 to pace Durango.

Regular Games/Other Events

Foothill 73, Chaparral 58 — At Foothill, Jace Roquemore had 16 points and Dylan Hushaw scored 15 to help the Falcons pull away from the Cowboys.

Fisher Welch had 12 points and Caleb Stearman scored 11 for Foothill, which led 46-23 at halftime.

Mike Flores led Chaprral with 22 points.

Adelson School 74, Word of Life 31 — At Adelson, Noah Stanigar scored 21 points to led the Lions past Word of Life.

Zach Fiumara had 14 points for Adelson.

Faith Lutheran 67, Jesuit (Calif.) 57 — At Reno, Brevin Walter had a game-high 22 points to lift the Crusaders past the Maruaders in the Wild West Shootout.

Donavan Jackson had 19 points, and Azavier Johnson added 12 points for Faith Lutheran.

Pahranagat Valley 56, Eureka 47 — At Wells, Stockton Maxwell scored 26 points to lift the Panthers past the Vandals.

Kyler Martin scored nine for Pahranagat Valley, which held Eureka to 13 points in the second half.

Chase Green led the Vandals with 19 points.

Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 64, Lincoln County 61 — At Yuma, Ariz., Alex Vincent scored 23 points for the Lynx in a loss to the Conquistadors in the Southwest Rotary Classic.

Kobe Kelly added 15 points for the Lincoln County.

Sky Pointe 73, Indian Springs 51 — At Sky Pointe, Zackary Barfield scored a game-high 20 points, and the Eagles used a 24-7 fourth quarter run to defeat the Thunderbirds.

Nijel Murray had 17 points, and Lorenzo Moore added 10 points for Sky Pointe, which drained six 3-pointers.

Isaiah Jones and Taylor Hickman each scored 10 points to lead Indian Springs.

Desert Oasis 77, Tucson (Ariz.) 71 — At Yuma, Ariz., Nate Van had 23 points to propel the Diamondbacks by the Badgers.

Dominique Ford had 15 points and Kaydyn Koch added 13 points for Desert Oasis.

Innovations International 60, Pinecrest Academy 23 — At Innovations International, Jeremiah Cottrell had 15 points and 11 rebounds in the Ambassadors’ win over Pinecrest Academy.

Antwon Cannon scored nine points for Innovations International.

Spring Valley 71, Oxnard (Calif.) 60 — At Oxnard, Calif., the Grizzlies knocked off the Yellow Jackets.

Lake Mead Holiday Classic

Moapa Valley 56, Lake Mead 44 — Lucas Walker and Jessup Lake each scored 17 points as the Pirates topped the Eagles.

Cameron Reese had nine points for Moapa Valley, which trailed 38-31 after three quarters and closed the game on a 25-6 run.

Marcus Dolinar scored 11 points, and Colson Madruga had 10 to pace Lake Mead.

Boulder City 57, The Meadows 26 — Karson Bailey scored 17 points to lead the Eagles over the Mustangs.

Ethan Speaker had 15 points, and Derrick Thomas added 13 for Boulder City, which led 38-12 at the break.

Obinna Ezeanolue scored eight points to pace The Meadows.

Boulder City 72, American Prep 64 — Karson Bailey scored 23 points, and teammate Matt Morton added 21 points, as the Eagles defeated American Prep.

Derrick Thomas added 13 points for Boulder City, which outscored American Prep 33-26 over the middle quarters.

John Jenkins led American Prep with 24 points, and teammate Jaycob McBath had 17 points.

SLAM Academy 58, Tech 34 — Jalen Cunningham scored a game-high 26 points as the Bulls dispatched the Roadrunners.

Walter Kirk and Noa Lee Delpozo each added seven points for SLAM Academy, which held Tech to one point in the first quarter.

Devin Nelson had six points to pace the Roadrunners.

SLAM Academy 68, Virgin Valley 25 —Jalen Cunningham poured in 32 points as the Bulls routed the Bulldogs.

Jamal Carr had 14 points, and Peter Daniel added nine points for SLAM Academy.

Daxon Toone scored seven points to pace Virgin Valley.

Moapa Valley 58, Fernley 50 — Lucas Walker had 17 points to lead the Pirates past the Vaqueros.

Derek Reese and Jessup Lake supplied 10 points apiece for Moapa Valley.

West Wendover 60, Calvary Chapel 52 — The Wolverines downed the Lions.

Blake Box led Calvary Chapel with 19 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks. J.J. Robinson supplied 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Yorgo Bouharb added nine points and 10 rebounds for the Lions.
