ROUNDUP: Boyd, Basic boys clinch playoff spot
Devonte Boyd had 15 points and nine rebounds Friday to help Basic’s boys basketball team clinch a playoff spot with a 65-55 home win over Basic.
Isaiah Villaros added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolves, who took control early. Andrew Lopez and Sheldon Slayton each had 10 points for Basic.
Tyrone Rouse led Del Sol with 16 points. Kyle Collins had 12 points, and Rashon Lawson scored 11 for the Dragons.
Eldorado 72, Liberty 68 — At Eldorado, D.J. Billingsley scored 21 points, and his 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining helped the Sundevils edge the Patriots.
Quavion Thorns also scored 21 points, and Tyson Williams had 12 points for Eldorado, which trailed 55-48 heading into the fourth quarter.
Kai Nacua led Liberty with 19 points. Dartivius Young added 14 points, and Tyler Newman scored 11 for the Patriots, who will face Coronado on Monday in a play-in game to determine the Southeast’s final postseason qualifier.
Foothill 94, Coronado 78 — At Foothill, Matt Rapp had 16 points, and the Falcons utilized a 62-33 run in the middle quarters to down the Cougars.
Kyle Andres chipped in with 12 points, and Elijah Smith and Jalen Shepard each had 11 points for Foothill.
Justice Augmon led all scorers with 25 points for Coronado. Jordan Willis and Ricardo Robinson each scored 16 points, and Charlie Teixeira had 10 points for the Cougars.
Las Vegas 76, Silverado 49 — At Las Vegas, Aziz Leeks led three players in double figures with 16 points, and the Wildcats used a big third quarter to put away the Skyhawks and clinch the Northeast League’s top seed.
Re’Kwon Smith added 14 points and Juwan Major finished with 12 points for Las Vegas, which went on a 27-9 run in the third to take a 27-point lead.
Ken Leo led Silverado with 10 points.
Canyon Springs 62, Valley 57 — At Canyon Springs, sophomore Jordan Davis had 19 points in his first varsity game to lead the Pioneers by the Vikings.
Chris Nelson added 11 points, and Chris Swanson scored 10 for the Pioneers.
Cameron Burton had 16 points, and Daniel Young had 13 points for Valley.
Green Valley 64, Rancho 27 — At Rancho, Troy Cropper had 14 points as the Gators routed the Rams.
Jason Hill added 12 points for Green Valley.
Josiah Timpson had 11 points for Rancho.
Sierra Vista 63, Spring Valley 50 — At Spring Valley, Apollo Corley scored 16 points to lead the Mountain Lions past the Grizzlies.
DeJuan Smith chipped in with 14 points for Sierra Vista, which made 12 of 17 free throws.
Taren Donaldson finished with 15 points, and Terrell Lee had 13 points to lead the Grizzlies.
Mojave 57, Moapa Valley 51 — At Mojave, Marcus Hines finished with 17 points and eight steals to lift the Rattlers over the Pirates.
Anthony Chapple, Darryl Adams and Devin Flowers had seven points apiece for Mojave, which overcame a 15-for-30 showing at the free-throw line.
Jackson Mortensen led Moapa Valley with 18 points.
The Meadows 57, Lake Mead 37 — At Lake Mead, Eric Hirsberg led a balanced attack with 13 points as the Mustangs topped the Eagles.
Brian Fridman had 11 points, and Ethan Fridman scored 10 for The Meadows.
Wesley Brule had 14 points, and Caleb Pitman added 11 points and 15 rebounds for Lake Mead.
Agassi Prep 67, Calvary Chapel 43 — At Agassi Prep, Steven Jones scored 27 points to help the Stars cruise past the Lions.
Kobe Williams added 14 points for Agassi Prep, which broke open a close game in the third quarter.
A.J. Davis scored 12 points to lead Calvary Chapel.
Spring Mountain 58, Tonopah 39 — At Saville Middle School, Develle Williams had 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks to power the Golden Eagles past the Muckers.
Roemello Tatum had 16 points, and Kenyon McNair chipped in 10 rebounds for Spring Mountain, which went on a 39-11 run in the middle quarters.
Connor Friel led the Muckers with 15 points.
Pahranagat Valley 51, Round Mountain 17 — At Alamo, Austin Poulsen had 12 points and 11 assists as the Panthers wrapped up the Southern League title by routing the Knights.
Tyler Higbee added 12 points for Pahranagat, which used an 18-0 second-quarter run to open a 29-7 halftime lead.
Cole Shrider had nine points for Round Mountain.
Indian Springs 41, Lund 36 — At Indian Springs, Talon Mike had 18 points, and the Thunderbirds rallied from an 18-12 halftime deficit to top the Mustangs.
Tristan Thomas added 12 points for Indian Springs.
Beatty 66, Sandy Valley 19 — At Beatty, Carlos Gomez scored 16 points, and the Hornets routed the Sidewinders.
Chris Dunlap (13 points) and Levy Reed (11 points) also reached double figures for Beatty.
James Rau led Sandy Valley with seven points.
