ROUNDUP: Chaparral boys keep rolling with win over Rancho

Bre Onta Griffin scored 11 of his 20 points during a 24-6 third-quarter run Thursday to help Chaparral’s boys basketball team to a 68-44 home win over Rancho.
 
Chris Goodloe added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Cowboys, who improved to 4-0 in the Northeast League — twice as many league wins as they had last season.
 
Kevin Morgan scored 14 points, and Zach Kirschbaum pulled down 15 rebounds for Chaparral.
 
Amir Royal led the Rams with 15 points.
 
Las Vegas 73, Desert Pines 71 — At Las Vegas, Hasaan Henderson scored all 22 of his points in the first three quarters, and the Wildcats survived a second-half cold spell to edge the Jaguars.
 
Tanner Chauncey added 13 points and Tyree Anderson had 11 for Las Vegas, which led 54-42 at halftime, but scored only seven third-quarter points. Anderson had eight of the Wildcats’ 12 points in the fourth quarter.
 
Tyler Larson led Desert Pines with 17 points. Chancellor Davis and Caleb Myles each added 13 points, and Dominique Lawrence scored 10 for the Jaguars.
 
Eldorado 68, Sunrise Mountain 41 — At Eldorado, the host Sundevils used a 32-15 second-half run to cruise past Sunrise Mountain.
 
Ariel Baggett led Eldorado with 14 points, and Thomas Hooper had 13 points. Curtis Stewart and Keyshaun Washington each supplied 11 point for the Sundevils.
 
Matthew Marshall scored 18 points for the Miners.
 
Bishop Gorman 81, Pahrump Valley 44 — At Gorman, Desi Allazeta led a balanced attack with 12 points as the Gaels routed the Trojans.
 
Xavier Grimble added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Gaels, who had 13 scoring players.
 
Alex Anderson led the Trojans with 14 points. David Smith added 11 points for Pahrump.
 
Spring Valley 65, Sierra Vista 60 — At Spring Valley, Justin Omogun scored 27 points, and the host Grizzlies jumped out to a 35-19 halftime lead en route to a win over the Mountain Lions.
 
Corey Clement added 14 points for the Grizzlies.
 
Viko Noma’aea paced Sierra Vista with 31 points. Corey Noma’aea added 12 points.
 
Clark 62, Bonanza 51 — At Bonanza, Steven Dancy had 23 points and five assists to lead the Chargers past the Bengals.
 
Alejandro Rangel added 19 points and eight rebounds for Clark.
 
Moapa Valley 49, Penrith (Australia) 44 — At Overton, Zach Geary scored 11 points as Moapa Valley took a 28-18 halftime lead and held off Penrith.
 
Josh Thompson added 10 points for the Pirates.
 
Spring Mountain 66, Adelson School 64 — At Adelson, De’Andre Hampton scored a team-high 22 points as the Eagles outlasted Adelson in overtime.
 
Leon Saunders scored the winning shot for Spring Mountain and finished with 20 points. Marvelle Dunson also added 10 points for the Eagles.
 
Gabi Bornstein scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Adelson. Aaron Lapping also had 15 points for the Lions.
