ROUNDUP: Desert Pines alone in Northeast League lead

Pierre Jackson scored 14 of his 25 points during the first half when Desert Pines took an 11-point lead, and the Jaguars beat visiting Eldorado 71-65 to gain sole possession of first place in the Northeast League in boys basketball Monday.

Reggie Shaw added 13 points for Desert Pines, which is 6-0 in the Northeast, a game ahead of Eldorado. Chris Perry added 11 points and Tyler Larson 10.

Charles White led Eldorado with 19 points. Mitrell Clark scored 16 and Ariel Bagget 12.

Valley 64, Chaparral 52 — At Chaparral, Johnquez Brooks scored 37 points to carry the Vikings past the Cowboys.

Valley shot 25-for-33 from the free-throw line.

Jerome Young led Chaparral with 10 points.

Canyon Springs 84, Rancho 77 — At Canyon Springs, Adrian Snow had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pioneers to victory.

Michael Thompson had 19 points and Jeremy Alexander 16 for Canyon Springs.

James Cammack led Rancho with 18 points, and Byron Bynum had 16.

Western 59, Sierra Vista 45 — At Western, Deion Harrell supplied 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors past the Mountain Lions.

Johnnie Diggs added 13 points and nine assists for Western, which pulled away after carrying a 36-32 lead into the fourth quarter.

Miguel Reyes led Sierra Vista with 14 points, and Akeem Smith had 10.

Bonanza 69, Spring Valley 65 — At Spring Valley, Andrew Whiting and Dasean Martin scored 15 points each, helping beat the Bengals beat the Grizzlies.

John Grady added 14 points for Bonanza.

Anton Stallworth scored 27 and Justin Omogun 14 for Spring Valley.

Clark 45, Pahrump Valley 42 — At Pahrump, Isidro Garcia had 19 points and Rabbit Toler 17 as the Chargers held off the Trojans.

Needles 71, Calvary Chapel 46 — At Calvary Chapel, Stevie Kidd scored 12 of his 18 points in the first half and Darra Russell added 11 to lead the Mustangs over the Lions.

Needles’ Aaron Burns scored 13 points and Anthony Ramos 12.

Dario Rahming led Calvary Chapel with 16 points and Brandon Corbitt had 10.

Black Mountain Christian 27, Sandy Valley 21 — At Tarkanian Middle School, Black Mountain used a 12-4 third-quarter run to down the Sidewinders.

Conner Luther had eight pionts for Sandy Valley.
