Roundup: Garin Macfarlane’s triple-double guides Mustangs to win
Garin Macfarlane had 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists Tuesday to help Shadow Ridge’s boys basketball team outlast visiting Rancho, 106-97.
Erin Chamble added 25 points and 10 rebounds for Shadow Ridge, which trailed 23-14 after one quarter, but used a 41-14 second-quarter burst to take the lead.
Jacob Schilder had 15 points, and Aiden Hurley scored 14 for the Mustangs, who got 12 points from Quinshon McGee.
James Brown paced the Rams with 34 points. Ta’Quawn Dillon-Hodges added 16 points, and Izaiah Staton scored 14 for Rancho.
Coronado 95, Foothill 90 — At Foothill, Jaden Hardy’s 34 points helped lift the Cougars over the Falcons.
Tyrell Hunt added 19 points, and Max Howard scored 16 points for Coronado, which got 12 points from Jhaylon Martinez and 11 points from Richard Isaacs.
Dylan Hushaw led Foothill with 33 points. Caleb Stearman scored 18 points, and Collin Russell added 13 points for the Falcons, who got 12 points from Jace Roquemore.
Arbor View 76, Centennial 71 — At Arbor View, Donovan Yap scored 29 points, and the Aggies used a 17-4 game-ending run to defeat the Bulldogs.
Arbor View trailed 47-40 entering the fourth quarter and took the lead on Yap’s 3-pointer from the right wing with 45 seconds remaining.
Tyre Williams had 15 points, and Favor Chukwukelu added 11 points for the Aggies.
Leland Wallace scored 18 points, Jairus Dickson had 15 points, and Austin Anderson added 12 points for Centennial.
Liberty 75, Basic 60 — At Basic, Julian Strawther scored 23 points to lead the Patriots by the Wolves.
Dante Davis and Terrance Marigney each added 13 points for Liberty, which led 40-20 at the half.
Joseph Ramirez led Basic with 11 points, and teammate Isaiah James scored 10.
Palo Verde 67, Bonanza 58 — At Palo Verde, Drew Warnick scored 21 points as the Panthers held off the Bengals.
Kade Madsen had 15 points, and Sebastian Bejaoui added nine points for Palo Verde.
Ian White scored 14 points, and Kendell Burrell tallied 13 points to pace Bonanza.
Green Valley 66, Tech 25 — At Green Valley, Antoine Hines scored 16 points to lead 11 scorers as the Gators blitzed the Roadrunners.
Zachary Hammer had 10 points, and Kaden Jackson added nine points for Green Valley, which led 49-9 at halftime.
Devin Nelson scored nine points to pace Tech.
Chaparral 68, Sky Pointe 38 — At Sky Pointe, Sameal Anderson scored 12 points as the Cowboys defeated the Eagles.
Elijah Briggs added 10 points for Chaparral, which coasted to a 41-18 halftime lead.
Lorenzo Moore led Sky Pointe with 12 points.
Boulder City 62, Virgin Valley 36 — At Mesquite, Derrick Thomas scored 16 points as the Eagles took down the Bulldogs.
Karson Bailey had 12 points, and Ethan Speaker added 10 points for Boulder City, which outscored Virgin Valley 39-14 in the middle two quarters.
Daxon Toone and Will Barnum each had 10 points for Virgin Valley.
Moapa Valley 57, Sunrise Mountain 45 — At Sunrise Mountain, Lucas Walker had 16 points to help the Pirates top the Miners.
Jessup Lake added 10 points for Moapa Valley, which led 31-21 at the half.
Dai’Quan Sykes paced Sunrise Mountain with 16 points.
Lincoln County 71, Adelson School 62 — At Adelson School, Cody Zile scored 18 points, and Mathew Hafen added 15 points as the Lynx topped the Lions.
Noah Smith added 12 points for Lincoln County, which sped to a 38-18 halftime lead.
Dale Weiford led all scorers with 31 points for Adelson School. Noah Stanigar tallied 12 points, and Harrison Clayton scored 11 for the Lions.
Calvary Chapel 61, Mountain View 13 — At Calvary Chapel, O’Brien Pearce scored all 13 of his points in the first half as the Lions rolled by the Saints.
Chris Yoo had 17 points for Calvary Chapel, which led 43-6 at the half.
Indian Springs 40, Liberty Baptist 39 — At Indian Springs, Neko Valdez scored 17 points to help the Thunderbirds edge the Knights in overtime.
Isai Valdez had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Liberty Baptist, and teammate Issiah Smith added 13 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer to force overtime.
Pahranagat Valley 65, Beaver Dam 21 — At Alamo, Preston Higbee scored 20 points as the Panthers rolled past the Diamondbacks.
Stockton Maxwell and Kyler Martin each added nine points for Pahranagat Valley, which opened the game on a 15-2 run.
Jorge Hermosillo led Beaver Dam with nine points.
Innovations International 65, Equipo Academy 17 — At Innovations International, Keith Mazurkiewicz had 26 points as the Ambassadors rolled past the Yeti.
Jeremiah Cottrell added 14 points for Innovations, which led 48-5 at the half.
