Roundup: Glenn Taylor leads Cheyenne to overtime win

Glenn Taylor hit two free throws with 15.8 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and finished with 25 points Saturday to lead Cheyenne’s boys basketball team to a 57-50 win over Mira Mesa (California) in Chula Vista, California.

Damion Bonty added nine points for the Desert Shields, who made 28 of 32 free throws.

Jeremiah Brown led Mira Mesa with 19 points, and teammate Albert Lemon scored 18.

Coronado 84, Village School (Texas) 43 — At Houston, Jhaylon Martinez led a balanced effort with 17 points and eight rebounds as the Cougars routed the Vikings.

Sophomore Jaden Hardy added 13 points, giving him 1,004 career points in 38 games. Ra’shjon Martinez scored 12 for Coronado, which got 11 points from Felix Reeves.

Tyrell Hunt added eight points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars.

Jo’Qwan West led Village with 16 points, and teammate Trace Boling scored 11.

Durango 68, Bonita Vista (Calif.) 66 — At Chula Vista, California, Anthony Hunter poured in 25 points to lead the Trailblazers by the Barons.

Jeremiah Beckwood added 18 points for Durango, which led 34-25 at the half.

Adrian Wade and D.M. Sanders each scored 17 points to lead Bonita Vista.

Gonzaga (D.C.) 56, Bishop Gorman 50 — At Wheeling, West Virginia, Terrance Williams scored 25 points and was 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 15 seconds to lead the Eagles by the Gaels in the Cancer Research Classic.

Anwar Gill added 11 points for Gonzaga.

Zaon Collins had 14 points for Gorman, which got 10 points from Noah Taitz.

Sunrise Christian (Kan.) 63, Findlay Prep 32 — At Wheeling, West Virginia, N’Faly Dante had 17 points and 13 rebounds to help the Buffaloes blitz the Pilots in the Cancer Research Classic.

Jalyn Turner added 14 points for Sunrise Christian, ranked No. 21 nationally by USA Today.

Taryn Todd had 12 points, and P.J. Fuller scored 10 for Findlay Prep, which shot just 11-for-43 from the field (25.6 percent).

Notre Dame (Calif.) 74, Liberty 58 — At Redondo Beach, California, Ziaire Williams scored 25 of his 33 points in the first half and finished with 15 rebounds, five assists and four blocks to lead the Knights over the Patriots in the Take Flight Challenge.

Julian Rishwain added 21 points, and Ben Shtolzberg scored 12 for Notre Dame, which led 40-29 at the half.

Julian Strawther paced Liberty with 24 points.
