ROUNDUP: Gray powers Legacy boys by Pioneers

Donovan Gray scored 30 points, and sank 7 of 9 free throws in the second half to help Legacy’s boys basketball team to an 82-78 home win over Canyon Springs on Thursday.

Andre Washington, Todd Murdock, and Javon Peterson each added 11 points for the Longhorns. Washington converted two key 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter.

Shaquile Carr had 20 points, and Chris Nelson scored 19 for Canyon Springs, which got 15 points from Jerryon Sueing.

Green Valley 90, Sierra Vista 81 — At Sierra Vista, Tyler Roberts scored 12 of his 46 points in overtime to help the Gators outlast the Mountain Lions.

Kenan Haywood and Troy Cropper each added 10 points for Green Valley, which outscored Sierra Vista 20-11 in the extra period.

Green Valley was 40 of 55 from the free-throw line, and Sierra Vista was 35 of 47.

Nino Flores had 17 points, and Mikko Balmes scored 16 for the Mountain Lions. Christian Tirol added 15 points, and Apollo Corley scored 12 for Sierra Vista.

Liberty 67, Spring Valley 52 — At Liberty, Jeremy Lontayao had 20 points, four assists, and four steals to lead the Patriots to victory over the Grizzlies.

Zach Johnson had 14 points, and Elijah Graves added 12 points for Liberty, which used a 27-14 third-quarter run to pull away.

Travis Walton paced Spring Valley with 12 points.

Basic 61, Boulder City 55 — At Basic, Devonte Boyd had 17 points and five assists as the Wolves turned back the Eagles.

Ryan Diggs and Andrew Lopez each scored 11 points for Basic, which took a 35-24 halftime lead.
Kaleb Bailey led the Eagles with 13 points.

Eldorado 83, Desert Oasis 50 —
At Desert Oasis, D.J. Billingsley scored 17 points, and teammate Darrion Daniels added 16 points as the Sundevils ran away from the Diamondbacks.

Quavion Thorns had 12 points, and Jayveon Brown supplied 10 points for Eldorado, which jumped out to a 49-30 halftime lead.

Dustin Schwartz scored 14 points, and Marvin Duty contributed 10 points for Desert Oasis.

Centennial 69, Silverado 23 — At Centennial, Marcus Allen scored 12 of his 25 points during a 22-3 first-quarter run as the Bulldogs routed the Skyhawks.

Malcolm Allen added 17 points for Centennial.

Raven Russell led Silverado with six points.

Tech 62, Rite of Passage 13 — At Hawthorne, Tyler Gardenhire had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Roadrunners to an easy win in the Serpent Classic.

Alfonso Sanchez had 10 points for Tech, which forced 23 turnovers.

Tech 78, Smith Valley 27 — At Hawthorne, Gardenhire again had 14 points and eight rebounds and added five blocks and three steals as the Roadrunners blitzed to another win in the Serpent Classic.

Bryan Catenza added 11 points for Tech, which had 13 players score. Tyler Walker had eight assists, and Elijah Robertson grabbed seven rebounds for the Roadrunners.

Lowry 59, Virgin Valley 46 — At Lowry, Josh Waterson had 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Buckaroos over the Bulldogs in the Lowry Invitational.

Garrett Leavitt hit five 3-pointers and scored 20 points for Virgin Valley. Dee Bowler added 13 points, and Tyson Teerlink scored 10 for the Bulldogs.

Liberty Baptist 37, Sandy Valley 21 — At Sandy Valley, Danny Guerrero scored 13 points, and the Eagles used a 30-10 run in the middle two quarters to down the Sidewinders.

Jared Sullivan added 11 points for Liberty Baptist.

Logan Shelton had 10 points to lead Sandy Valley.
