ROUNDUP: Harper’s key layups help Mojave boys shock Legacy
Quintarus Harper hit layups at the end of regulation and the first overtime Thursday as visiting Mojave’s boys basketball team stunned Legacy, 72-68 in double overtime.
Harper finished with 21 points to lead Mojave.
Rickey White added 13 points and Royale Jackson had 12 for the Rattlers, who couldn’t hold a 29-22 halftime lead.
Ira Haywood paced Legacy with 20 points. Sian Laine and Sam Johnson each scored 13 points for the Longhorns.
Silverado 79, Basic 66 — At Silverado, Ruben Jackson scored 22 points, and the Skyhawks used a 16-3 edge in the second overtime to outlast the Wolves.
Dwayne Marshall had 21 to lead Silverado.
Tyler Dobbins scored 19 points, John Polin added 15, and Vince Carducci contributed 12 for Basic, which made late shots in regulation and the first overtime to prolong the game.
Polin nailed a jumper from the left wing with three seconds left in regulation to tie it at 57-57. Dobbins’ tip-in basket with four seconds left in the first overtime forced the second overtime.
The Wolves started the second overtime with three straight turnovers and couldn’t recover.
Coronado 76, Liberty 72 — At Liberty, Devan Kohn led five double-figure scorers with 17 points, and the Cougars rallied from a 32-28 halftime deficit to defeat the Patriots.
Adam Schmitt scored 15 points, Brandon Glanz had 14, Austin Nelson added 13, and Kyle Johnson chipped in 12 for Coronado.
Ashante Ross had eight of his 20 points in the fourth quarter for Liberty. Tim Rambo supplied 19 points, and Giovanni Shelton had 13 points for the Patriots.
Foothill 69, Green Valley 49 — At Green Valley, Evan Roquemore scored 24 points as the Falcons used an 18-9 third quarter to beat the Gators.
Chris Clementi contributed 13 points for Foothill.
Durell McDonald scored 18 points and Austin Tebbs 12 to pace Green Valley.
Del Sol 58, Tech 38 — At Tech, Jeff Coon scored 23 points, and Devontti Gilmore had 20 points as the Dragons used a 34-17 second-half spurt to blow past the Roadrunners.
Michael Johnson had 17 points, and Ben Seibert scored 13 for Tech.
Centennial 74, Faith Lutheran 50 — At Centennial, Ben Vozzola hit four 3-pointers and scored 22 points as the Bulldogs cruised past the Crusaders.
Aaseem Dixon added 12 points for Centennial, which outscored Faith Lutheran 38-14 in the middle quarters to pull away for good.
Sam Done led the Crusaders with 24 points.
Cheyenne 73, Shadow Ridge 55 — At Shadow Ridge, Jaylen Henry scored 20 points to lead the Desert Shields past the Mustangs.
Victor Bermudez had 14 points, and Chris McCall scored 13 for Cheyenne, which outscored the Mustangs 20-11 in the third quarter to seal the win.
Jordan Brown had 16 points, and Zach Hafen scored 14 for the Mustangs. Josh Youngblood also had 12 points for Shadow Ridge.
Arbor View 70, Cimarron-Memorial 65 — At Cimarron, Darington Banks scored 24 points to help the Aggies past the Spartans.
Brian Vignaud had 17 points and eight rebounds for Arbor View. Maiscei Grier added 13 points for the Aggies.
Cimarron’s Kevin Olekaibe led all scorers with 41 points.
Rancho 87, Sunrise Mountain 52 — At Rancho, Tyler Gaston had 14 points and 25 rebounds to help the Rams blast the Miners.
Amir Royal scored 18 points for Rancho, which led 27-11 after the first quarter. Kris Hall (17) and Antonio Boucher (10) also scored in double figures for the Rams.
Fharhaad Zinnamon led Sunrise Mountain with 23 points.
Canyon Springs 66, Eldorado 50 — At Eldorado, Michael Thompson and Jeremy Alexander each scored eight points during a 24-11 first-quarter run that helped the Pioneers top the Sundevils.
Thompson finished with 21 points, and Alexander had 15.
Curtis Stewart paced Eldorado with 14 points. Thomas Hooper scored 10 for the Sundevils.
Desert Pines 65, Valley 60 — At Desert Pines, Tyler Larson had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Jaguars past the Vikings.
Chancellor Davis scored all 12 of his points in the second half for Desert Pines.
Caleb Myles scored 11 points for the Jaguars, and Dominique Lawrence supplied nine points and 12 rebounds.
Christian Kessee led Valley with 16 points. Angelo Coleman added 14 points for the Vikings.
Adelson School 63, Sandy Valley 32 — At Adelson, Aaron Lapping scored 18 points, and the Lions took a 29-14 halftime lead en route to the victory.
Gabi Bornstein scored 11 point,s and Gil Reginiano added 10 points for the Lions.
Brandon Hughes scored 12 points for the Sidewinders.
