ROUNDUP: Moerman helps Henderson International top Knights
Danny Moerman poured in 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Saturday as Henderson International’s boys basketball team cruised to a 65-42 win at Round Mountain.
Clay Tormey added 21 points and Jay Sutorius 10 for the Wolverines, who pulled away after taking a 34-26 halftime lead.
Joaquin Ramirez led the Knights with 11 points.
Lake Mead 60, Tonopah 20 — At Tonopah, Jeff Newton led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Eagles routed the Muckers.
Josh Bratton, Demetrius Turner and Alex Mayorga each added nine points for Lake Mead, which led 36-7 at the half and 48-11 after three quarters.
Pahranagat Valley 60, Beatty 35 — At Alamo, Tommy Williams and Taylor Poulsen each scored seven points during a 23-2 second-quarter run that lifted the Panthers past the Hornets.
Williams finished with 18 points to lead all scorers. Poulsen added 13.
Joe Serrano led Beatty with 12 points, and teammate Ramiro Hernandez scored 10.
West Wendover 62, Mountain View 59 — At West Wendover, Brandon Hoston scored 20 points for the Wolverines, who held on after taking a 26-point third-quarter lead.
West Wendover opened the second half on a 6-0 run to take a 44-18 lead before the Saints stormed back. Justyn Anderson and Cortland LeBoeuf combined to score 26 points in the fourth quarter as Mountain View outscored the Wolverines 31-16 but got no closer than the final outcome.
Anderson led all scorers with 24 points on 11 of 20 shooting. LeBoeuf had 22 points.
