ROUNDUP: Moore, Centennial come back to win Yuma tournament

Redell Moore made three 3-pointers and scored 17 points Saturday to help Centennial’s boys basketball team defeat Tucson (Ariz.) 64-57 in the championship game of the Cibola Rotary Classic at Yuma, Ariz.
The Bulldogs trailed by 10 in the second quarter, but got within 37-32 at halftime and outscored Tucson 32-20 in the second half.
“It’s a good quality win,” Centennial coach Todd Allen said. “Our kids played hard. Redell played unbelievable. We came out in the second half and really picked up our defense.”
Ben Vozzola and Aaseem Dixon scored 15 points each for Centennial, which sank 10 3-pointers. All but three of Dixon’s points came in the second half. Ryan Vozzola added 10 rebounds.
Sama Taku led Tucson with 21 points and Shakir Smith had 19.
Canyon Springs 72, Cherry Creek (Colo.) 42 — At Canyon Springs, Adrian Snow had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and the host Pioneers put five scorers in double figures while beating the Bruins.
Michael Thompson scored 12 points for the Pioneers, and Donald Anderson, Jeremy Alexander and Jared Brandon had 10 each.
Anderson also supplied six assists and four steals for Canyon Springs, which used a 22-11 third quarter to take a 52-30 lead.
Legacy 60, Timpanogos (Utah) 50 — At St. George, Utah, Sian Laine scored 10 of his 19 points during a 22-10 third-quarter run and the Longhorns won the third-place game of the Ken Robinson Classic.
Sam Johnson and Brian McDaniel added 13 points each for Legacy. Johnson, who grabbed eight rebounds, scored eight points in the third quarter.
Ryan Van Pelt led Timpanogos with 19 points.
Douglas 64, Faith Lutheran 47 — At Douglas, the Tigers outscored Faith Lutheran 37-24 in the middle quarters to pull away.
Brett Lubbe led the Crusaders with 13 points, and Don Pearson scored 10.
Virgin Valley 66, Lake Mead 63 — At Mesquite, Cameron Jensen drained three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help Virgin Valley edge Lake Mead in the championship game of the Bulldog Invitational Tournament.
Jensen led four double-figure scorers with 17 points. Jason Wittwer and Austin Cloes each added 13 points, and Beau Cloes scored 11 for the Bulldogs.
Landon Littlefield paced the Eagles with 25 points. De’Quan Thompson added 18 points, and L.J. Yamazon scored 11 for Lake Mead.
Jensen was named the tournament’s MVP. Joining him on the all-tournament team are Austin Cloes, Littlefield, Thompson, Lincoln County’s Eric Rippetoe and Desert Oasis’ Cameron Jefferson.
Virgin Valley 66, Lincoln County 60 — At Mesquite, Wittwer scored 20 to help the host Bulldogs earn their spot in the title game of the Bulldog Invitational.
Zach Horlacher added 15 points and Austin Cloes 14 for the Bulldogs, who grabbed an 18-9 lead in the first quarter.
Dantley Walker scored 20 and Rippetoe 17 for the Lynx.
Lake Mead 82, Desert Oasis 72 — At Mesquite, Littlefield and Thompson combined for 64 points as the Eagles outlasted the Diamondbacks in the Bulldog Invitational.
 
Littlefield scored 33 and Thompson 31 for Lake Mead.
Nick Cruz paced Desert Oasis with 16 points. Derek Adkins scored 14, Anthony Lianzo 13 and Jefferson 11 for the Diamondbacks.
Desert Oasis 88, Lincoln County 84 — At Mesquite, Cameron Mich’l led a balanced attack with 20 points as Desert Oasis saw a 64-52 lead slip away but downed the Lynx in overtime in the Bulldog Invitational.
Lianzo added 17 points, Jefferson 16, Adkins 13 and Cruz 12 for Desert Oasis.
Rippetoe scored 40 points to lead the Lynx. Walker added 32 points for Lincoln County.
Bonanza 56, Moapa Valley 44 — At Mesquite, Desean Martin scored 15 points to help Bonanza wrap up fifth place in the Bulldog Invitational.
Zach Geary led Moapa Valley with 13 points.
Bonanza 56, Bishop Gorman JV 52 — At Mesquite, Martin had 15 points, and the Bengals edged Gorman’s junior varsity in the Bulldog Invitational.
Tommy Gentile scored 14 points for Bonanza.
Moapa Valley 60, Pahrump Valley 56 — At Mesquite, Geary scored 17 points, and the Pirates held on after taking a 42-31 lead into the fourth quarter of a consolation game in the Bulldog Invitational.
Kelan Weiss added 13 points and Josh Thompson 10 for the Pirates.
Alex Anderson scored 18 points and Daniel Shimakawa 11 for the Trojans.
Pahrump Valley 51, Bishop Gorman JV 44 — At Mesquite, Shane Lindemann poured in 21 points, and the Trojans overcame a 20-16 halftime deficit in the Bulldog Invitational.
Anderson added 11 points for Pahrump.
Mount Whitney (Calif.) 72, Mountain View 46 — At Kingsburg, Calif., Mount Whitney outscored the Saints in every quarter to win on the final day of the Kingsburg Tournament.
Justyn Anderson led the Saints with 15 points. Cortland LeBoeuf added 11 and Trevor Van Kempen 10.
Community Charter (Calif.) 68, Agassi Prep 60 — At Agassi Prep, Community Charter built a 32-23 halftime lead and held off the Stars.
Quincy Brown led Agassi Prep with 25 points and Dimitri Amos had 12.
 
Beatty 59, Western JV 50 — At Pahrump, Anthony Regalado scored 24 points, and the Hornets grabbed a 27-17 halftime lead and held off Western’s junior varsity in a pool-play game at the Pahrump Valley Cage Classic.
 
Ramiro Hernandez added 12 points and Ivan Maldonado 10 for Beatty.
 
Beatty 44, Tonopah 43 — At Pahrump, Regalado poured in 21 to help the Hornets overcome a 25-19 halftime deficit and advance to the title game of the Pahrump Valley Cage Classic.
 
Hernandez added 15 points for Beatty.
 
David McGaw led the Muckers with 14 points.

Beatty 75, Pahrump Valley JV 32 — At Pahrump, the Hornets routed Pahrump Valley’s junior varsity in the championship of the Pahrump Valley Cage Classic.
