ROUNDUP: Randazzo rallies Palo Verde boys past Chaparral

Joey Randazzo scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half, and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 4:40 to play Saturday to help Palo Verde’s boys basketball team rally for a 61-54 victory over Chaparral at South Point Arena.

Eris Winder had 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Panthers, who trailed 35-27 at the half.

Travis Gondrezick had nine rebounds, and Randazzo had seven rebounds and two blocked shots for Palo Verde, which opened the second half with a 13-0 run.

Partrick Savoy had 21 points and seven rebounds to lead the Cowboys, who missed their first 10 shots of the third quarter.

Jared Celestine had 15 points and five rebounds, and Tyree McNeal had 11 points and five boards for the Cowboys.

Bishop Gorman 69, Legacy 55 — At South Point Arena, Stephen Zimmerman had 17 points, 12 rebounds, five blocked shots and two assists to lead the Gaels over the Longhorns.

Zimmerman had back-to-back baskets in the third quarter to key an 11-4 run that pushed the Gorman lead to 41-29.

Rashad Muhammad added 14 points, and Noah Robotham had 12 points and five assists for Gorman.

Benjie Harris and Donavon Gray each had 12 points for Legacy. Harris scored 10 in the second half.

Faith Lutheran 65, Sunrise Mountain 54 — At Faith Lutheran, Clayton Holthus had 19 points and 18 rebounds to help the Crusaders top the Miners.

Sam Stevens added 12 points for Faith Lutheran.

Jovon Kirtley had 14 points, and Zane Gibbs scored 10 for Sunrise Mountain.

Desert Oasis 81, Yucca Valley (Calif.) 55 — At Yucca Valley, Calif., Juliano Rosario had 17 points as the Diamondbacks ran by the Trojans.

Dustin Schwartz and Noah Jefferson each scored 14 points, and Marvin Duty added 12 points for Desert Oasis.

Trenten Pecaro led Yucca Valley with 19 points.

Virgin Valley 71, Pine View (Utah) 60 — At Mesquite, Tyson Teerlink racked up 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to help the Bulldogs top the Panthers.

Garrett Leavitt had 27 points, and Dee Bowler added eight points and seven assists for Virgin Valley, which trailed 35-33 at the half.

Jed Newby led Pine View with 20 points.
