ROUNDUP: Wildcats pull away from Valley boys in second half

Las Vegas outscored Valley 28-16 to break away from a halftime tie and gain a 53-41 home victory in boys basketball Tuesday.

Aamahd Franklin scored 15 points and Tyree Anderson 14 for the Wildcats.

Valley’s Johnquez Brooks scored 16 points in the first half, but was held to two free throws in the second.

Desert Pines 70, Chaparral 59 — At Desert Pines, Pierre Jackson, Cliff Harrell and Tyler Larson combined for 21 points in the first quarter and 57 for the game as the Jaguars beat the Cowboys.

Jackson finished with 23 points, Harrell 21 and Larson 13 for Desert Pines, which led 24-11 after the first quarter.

Trenton Neal led Chaparral with 21 points, and Robert Porter added 14.

Eldorado 71, Rancho 55 — At Eldorado, Charles White,  Mitrell Clark and Marcus Moreland scored 15 points each to power the Sundevils past the Rams.

Moreland led Eldorado in rebounds with 10.

Rancho’s Tyler Gaston scored 18 points and Byron Bynum 17.

Needles 89, Lake Mead 83 —  At Needles, Anthony Ramos made a tiebreaking 3-pointer in overtime, and the Mustangs held on to beat the Eagles.

Stevie Kidd had 34 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Needles, and Darra Russell supplied 28 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Kidd shot 7-for-7 and Russell 4-for-4 on free throws in overtime.

Landon Littlefield led Lake Mead with 23 points. Jeffrey Newton added 22 and De’Quan Thompson 15 for the Eagles, who forced overtime with a 30-19 edge in the fourth quarter.

Agassi Prep 59, Boulder City 54 — At Agassi Prep, Tay Shepherd scored 18 points, and Quincy Brown had 14 points and 15 rebounds as the Stars beat the Eagles.

DeShawn Battle added 14 points for Agassi Prep.

Jeremy Smith scored 23 points and Shane Levin 20 for Boulder City.

Calvary Chapel 84, The Meadows 71 — At The Meadows, Brandon Corbitt had 26 points to carry the Lions past the Mustangs.

Dario Rahming added 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Joel Feigler had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Calvary Chapel.

Austin Brown led The Meadows with 18 points. Max Newman added 16 and Richard Martinez 15.

Lincoln County 94, Mountain View 74 — At Lincoln County, Eric Rippetoe scored 26 points to lead five scorers in double figures as the Lynx defeated the Saints.

Dantley Walker had 14 points, Cody Burgess and Jason Wheatley 13 each and Ivan Ortiz 12 for Lincoln County

Mountain View’s Justyn Anderson scored a game-high 27 points. LeBoeuf added 23, hitting five 3-pointers.
