2A HONORS: Condie, Pershing County dominate girls state awards

Pershing County, which rolled to its second straight Class 2A girls basketball title this season, also dominated the all-state team, as selected by coaches.

Mustangs’ junior guard Sarita Jo Condie was named 2A State Most Valuable Player after averaging 21.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.

Two of Condie’s teammates — Claudia Dennler and Grace Moreira — earned first-team all-state honors, along with White Pine’s Bailey Moore and Maataua Kingston, Mountain View’s Briana Marruffo and Lincoln County’s Lacee Babcock.

Pershing County coach Steve Cerini shared Coach of the Year accolades with White Pine’s Jeff Cramer, who guided the Bobcats to the 2A state final.
