GIRLS BASKETBALL: Booker, Grizzlies top Faith Lutheran

Essence Booker had 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists Friday to lead Spring Valley’s girls basketball team to a 62-46 win over visiting Faith Lutheran.

Kayla Harris added 14 points and five assists, and Alana Walker had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who used an 18-7 third-quarter run to take control.

Madison Bocobo and Sam Caruth each scored 14 points, and teammate Bryanna Neagle had 11 points for the Crusaders.

Palo Verde 73, Desert Pines 65 — At Palo Verde, Brooklyn Cruz scored 25 points to lead the Panthers past the Jaguars.

Paulina Silcox added 22 points for Palo Verde, which trailed 38-33 at the half but outscored Desert Pines 27-12 in the third quarter to take control.

Chrystian Myles scored 19 points to lead Desert Pines. See’Airrah Evans-Collins added 18 points, and Jordan Bailey scored 16 points for the Jaguars.

Moapa Valley 39, Virgin Valley 35 — At Overton, Summer Evans and Matilda Thompson each had seven points as the Pirates held off the Bulldogs.

Moapa Valley led 22-15 at the half and 34-31 after three quarters before holding on.

Briana Todd paced Virgin Valley with 18 points.

Chaparral 64, Sierra Vista 43 — At Sierra Vista, Marcia Hawkins scored 25 points as the Cowboys rallied from an 18-6 halftime deficit to top the Mountain Lions.

Alexis Vanstory added 15 points, and Jade Hazelton scored 10 for Chaparral, which outscored Sierra Vista 39-16 in the second half

Danielle Morrow led Sierra Vista with 13 points and 13 rebounds, and teammate Shania Harper had nine points and 16 rebounds.

Legacy 53, Mojave 24 — At Mojave, TaEha Pankey had 13 points as the Longhorns rolled over the Rattlers.

C’Aree Stevenson scored 12 for Legacy, which led 34-7 at halftime after holding Mojave scoreless in the second quarter.

Savannah Blanchard-Davis and Darria Gray each scored seven points for Mojave.

Basic 41, Boulder City 35 — At Boulder City, Happy Butler led a balanced attack with nine points as the Wolves rallied by the Eagles.

Basic trailed 15-6 after one quarter, but used a 27-13 run in the middle quarters to grab the lead.

Megan Morton paced Boulder City with 18 points.

Del Sol 30, Pahrump Valley 27 — At Pahrump, Jazland Campbell scored nine points and hit two free throws with 3.5 seconds left, to seal the Dragons’ win over the Trojans.

Lauren Ashford scored nine points to lead Pahrump.

Centennial 63, Canyon Springs 14 — At Canyon Springs, Jayden Eggleston had 14 points as the Bulldogs routed the Pioneers.

Bailey Thomas added 11 points for Centennial, which led 48-9 at the half.

Eleven players scored for the Bulldogs.

Needles 60, Agassi Prep 31 — At Agassi Prep, Paige Murch and Preslee Murch each scored 17 points as the Mustangs routed the Stars.

Brenna Chavez added 10 points for Needles, which led 26-14 at halftime.

Destiny Rover scored 11 points to lead Agassi Prep.

Lincoln County 52, Calvary Chapel 28 — At Calvary Chapel, Easton Tingey had 19 points and six rebounds, and the Lynx used a 38-10 run in the middle quarters to top the Lions.

Kailey Kelley added nine points and six rebounds, and teammate Kristal Jackson had eight points, six rebounds and five steals for Lincoln County.

Malia Lee led Calvary Chapel with 18 points.

Laughlin 41, Lake Mead 12 — At Laughlin, the Cougars held the Eagles scoreless in the first half and rolled to the win.

Brittany Schelper scored 14 points to pace Laughlin, which led 24-0 after one quarter and 31-0 at the half. Lake Mead didn’t score until midway through the third quarter.

Nicole Petrich added eight points for the Cougars.

White Pine 61, The Meadows 20 — At The Meadows, Madison Rick scored 13 points to lead the Bobcats in a rout of the Mustangs.

Debra Kingston had 11 points for White Pine, which blew the game open with a 21-0 second-quarter run.

Rachel Siegel had seven points, and Marcella Peek grabbed 13 rebounds for The Meadows.
