GIRLS BASKETBALL: Buchanan posts double-double, powers Cheyenne over Western
Bria Buchanan had 19 points and 17 rebounds Monday to help Cheyenne’s girls basketball team to a 57-53 overtime win over visiting Western.
Kaylan Finley added 17 points, and Da’Vione Lomax grabbed 17 rebounds for the Desert Shields.
Capricia Pierce had 30 points, and Destiny Gonzalez scored 12 for the Warriors, who trailed 32-24 after three quarters.
Arbor View 43, Green Valley 35 — At Green Valley, Ariona Gill had 17 points to help the Aggies top the Gators.
Brooke Haney had 11 points to lead Green Valley.
Chaparral 59, Sunrise Mountain 36 — At Chaparral, Taij Criss-Felton scored 26 points to lead the Cowboys over the Miners.
Marcia Hawkins added 11 points and five blocked shots, and teammate Alexis Vanstory scored 11 for Chaparral, which used a 20-9 second quarter to take control.
Ayla Diaz scored 13 points to lead Sunrise Mountain.
Mojave 38, Sierra Vista 33 — At Sierra Vista, Charlea Armstrong had 10 points to help the Rattlers down the Mountain Lions.
Keyara Lemon added eight points for Mojave, which used a 12-0 second-quarter run to take control.
Kelsey Jimenez led Sierra Vista with 11 points.
Boulder City 46, Del Sol 29 — At Del Sol, Megan Morton hit four 3-pointers and scored 19 points as the Eagles rallied past the Dragons.
Katlyn Daly added 10 points for Boulder City, which trailed 17-13 at the half.
Astrid Rodriguez paced Del Sol with nine points.
Desert Pines 47, Moapa Valley 31 — At Desert Pines, See’Airrah Evans-Collins had 13 points and 16 rebounds as the Jaguars ran away from the Pirates.
Jordan Bailey added 13 points, and Brianna Fitzgerald scored 12 for Desert Pines, which got nine rebounds from Adrianne Jackson.
Kinlee Marshall had 11 points, and teammate Emily Mills scored 10 for Moapa Valley.
Centennial 65, Shadow Ridge 26 — At Centennial, Jayden Eggleston had 11 points and 12 rebounds to help the Bulldogs rout the Mustangs.
Justice Ethridge had 17 points, and Karina Brandon added 12 points for Centennial, which outscored Shadow Ridge 18-0 in the second quarter.
Assana King and Ciera DaPra each had eight points for the Mustangs.
Virgin Valley 36, Tech 14 — At Tech, Kourtney Metzger scored nine points as the Bulldogs topped the Roadrunners.
Sandy Valley 25, Indian Springs 23 — At Sandy Valley, the Sidewinders held off the Thunderbirds.
Indian Springs scored the game’s final seven points.
Needles 59, Mohave Accelerated (Ariz.) 28 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., the Mustangs routed the Patriots.
