GIRLS BASKETBALL: Marshall’s overtime free throws help Pirates edge Boulder City
Kinlee Marshall made all four of her free throw attempts in overtime and finished with seven points as Moapa Valley’s girls basketball team held on for a 54-49 win over visiting Boulder City on Tuesday.
Summer Evans and Matilda Thompson scored 14 points apiece to lead Moapa Valley, which trailed 30-16 at halftime.
Megan Morton had 27 points for the Eagles.
Legacy 63, Shadow Ridge 50 — At Shadow Ridge, Otilia Price scored 18 points as the Longhorns defeated the Mustangs.
C’Aree Stevenson and TaEha Pankey each added 10 points for Legacy, which led 25-22 at halftime before outscoring Shadow Ridge 18-6 in the third quarter.
Alexa Martins led Shadow Ridge with 15 points. Aubree Nish had 14 points, and Lauryn Calo scored 11 for the Mustangs.
Bishop Gorman 75, Palo Verde 34 — At Palo Verde, Skylar Jackson led three double-figure scorers with 14 points as the Gaels cruised by the Panthers.
Megan Jacobs added 12 points, and Raychel Stanley scored 11 for Gorman, which led 51-21 at halftime.
Paulina Silcox had 14 points, and Brooklyn Cruz added 11 points for Palo Verde.
Chaparral 56, Tech 35 — At Chaparral, Jasmine Martin, Marcia Hawkins and Jade Hazelton each scored 12 points as the Cowboys topped the Roadrunners.
Shanice Aycox added 10 points for Chaparral, which led 32-20 at halftime and 50-25 after three quarters.
Tayler Muwwakkil and Leslie Williams had 12 points apiece for Tech.
Spring Valley 70, Sierra Vista 26 — At Spring Valley, Essence Booker had 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to power the Grizzlies by the Mountain Lions.
Kayla Harris had 16 points for Spring Valley.
Shania Harper led Sierra Vista with seven points.
Desert Pines 56, Del Sol 14 — At Desert Pines, Jordan Bailey scored 18 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Jaguars downed the Dragons.
See’Airrah Evans-Collins had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Desert Pines, which outscored Del Sol 21-1 in the second half.
Cheyenne 58, Pahrump Valley 28 — At Pahrump, Starr Hawkins, Morrisha Harden and Ejanae Coopwood each scored 12 points to help the Desert Shields top the Trojans.
Lauren Ashford led Pahrump with 11 points.
Virgin Valley 51, Sunrise Mountain 34 — At Sunrise Mountain, Spencer Green scored 12 points to help the Bulldogs down the Miners.
Briana Todd added 11 points for Virgin Valley, which led 31-13 at the half and 45-19 after three quarters.
KaVianna Kitch paced Sunrise Mountain with 14 points.
Needles 59, Mountain View 22 — At Mountain View, Jayne Antone scored 18 points as the Mustangs routed the Saints.
Brenna Chavez added 13 points for Needles, which held Mountain View scoreless in the second quarter and led 28-5 at the half.
Mia Shingles led the Saints with nine points.
The Meadows 41, Adelson School 17 — At The Meadows, Rachel Siegel tallied 15 points, 11 rebounds and six steals to lead the Mustangs by the Lions.
Marcella Peek added 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Talia Steinwald pulled down 10 rebounds for The Meadows, which outscored Adelson School 31-12 in the second half. Shoshana Wexler had 10 points for Adelson School.
Laughlin 58, Calvary Chapel 48 — At Calvary Chapel, Amanda Miller had 20 points to help the Cougars top the Lions.
Teresa Chapa added 17 points for Laughlin, which trailed 27-26 at the half, but used a 19-7 third-quarter run to take the lead.
Malia Lee hit six 3-pointers and had 26 points for Calvary Chapel.
Round Mountain 49, Beatty 36 — At Round Mountain, the Knights secured at least a share of the Division IV Southern League title and the No. 1 seed for the league playoffs by topping the Hornets.
Beaver Dam 65, Word of Life 53 — At Littlefield, Ariz., Jailene Hernandez poured in 35 points to help the Diamondbacks down the Eagles.
Mari Sandoval added 10 points for Beaver Dam, which led 35-10 at halftime.
Arieyanna Banks had 31 points for Word of Life, and teammate Ayanna Banks scored 18.
Mojave 37, Clark 30 — At Clark, the Rattlers topped the Chargers.
