Roundup: Elise Young, Cimarron hold off Faith Lutheran in Northwest battle
Elise Young scored a game-high 20 points to help Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team to a 58-51 home win over Faith Lutheran in a Northwest League game on Tuesday night.
Yesenia Wesley-Nash added 12 points for Cimarron, which led 32-18 at the break.
Kayla Proctor led Faith Lutheran with 17 points.
Chaparral 54, Sierra Vista 51 — At Sierra Vista, Riahana Davis led three double-figure scorers with 14 points as the Cowboys defeated the Mountain Lions.
Alexandria Williams had 11 points, and Emani White scored 10 for Chaparral, which broke a 37-37 tie with a 17-14 fourth quarter.
Shania Harper had 20 points and 17 rebounds to lead Sierra Vista, and teammate Alexis Hansen scored 14 points.
Desert Pines 40, Cheyenne 35 — At Desert Pines, Elasjanae Burns had 25 points and 15 rebounds as the Jaguars nipped the Desert Shields.
Trisa Butler added six points for Desert Pines, which used a 16-9 fourth-quarter run to pull away from a 26-24 deficit after three quarters.
Teionni McDaniel scored 13 points to lead Cheyenne.
Arbor View 51, Palo Verde 34 — At Arbor View, Autumn Westmoreland scored 15 points to lead the Aggies past the Panthers.
Alaysia Reed added 10 points for Arbor View, which held Palo Verde scoreless in the third quarter.
Maya Bega had 12 points for the Panthers.
Foothill 43, Green Valley 25 — At Foothill, Jailyn Johnson scored nine points as the Falcons defeated the Gators.
Laurel Rockwood supplied six points and eight points for Foothill, which got six points apiece from Maddy Beckham and Taylor Bair. Bri Rosales contributed four points and nine rebounds for the Falcons.
Shelby Clark had seven points to lead Green Valley.
Liberty 77, Basic 18 — At Basic, Dre’una Edwards tallied 28 points, 12 rebounds, 11 steals and five assists as the Patriots routed the Wolves.
London Pavlica tallied 15 points and seven rebounds, and Rae Burrell added 15 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals for Liberty, which bolted to a 48-9 halftime lead and held Basic to single digits in every quarter.
Centennial 84, Legacy 23 — At Legacy, Justice Ethridge scored 15 points to lead 11 scorers as the Bulldogs rolled past the Longhorns.
Daejah Phillips had 13 points, and Eboni Walker added 10 points for Centennial, which knocked down six 3-pointers.
Taeha Pankey and Rory Carter each scored six points to pace Legacy.
Bishop Gorman 70, Durango 27 — At Gorman, Caira Young and Shaira Young each scored 13 points as the Gaels routed the Trailblazers.
Olivia Smith had 12 points for Gorman, which led 24-6 after the first quarter.
Durango’s Dar’Juanah Harris led all scorers with 17 points.
Mojave 51, Western 31 — At Mojave, Kiara Lemon scored 24 points to lead the Rattlers to a victory over the Warriors.
Alecia Kelly added 12 points for Mojave, which led 25-16 at halftime.
Adrianna Jones led Western with 16 points.
Desert Oasis 74, Rancho 15 — At Desert Oasis, Kalena Halunajan scored 16 points, and Eliyjah Pricebrooks added 15 points as the Diamondbacks easily handled the Rams.
Ahmaya Smith supplied 14 points for Desert Oasis, which led 47-13 at halftime and held Rancho scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Saipress Jones scored seven points for Rancho.
Pahrump Valley 37, Sunrise Mountain 23 — At Sunrise Mountain, Samantha Runnion scored 18 points to power the Trojans past the Miners.
Kylie Stritenberger had eight points for Pahrump, which raced out to a 20-13 halftime lead.
Cheryl Edenfield and Esmeralda Balbuena each had six points to pace Sunrise Mountain.
Democracy Prep 45, Laughlin 25 — At Democracy Prep, Sharmayne Finley scored a game-high 22 points to help the Blue Knights dismantle the Cougars.
J’Laiya Regan added 13 points for Democracy Prep, which held Laughlin to two points in the first quarter.
Lori Morgon led the Cougars with eight points.
Needles 74, Adelson School 18 — At Adelson School, Preslee Murch scored 20 points to lead the Mustangs to an easy win over the Lions.
Paige Murch had 14 points, and Jasmine Mejia added 10 points for Needles, which led 22-3 after the first quarter.
Caroline Altman scored 12 points to lead Adelson School.
Lake Mead 57, Mountain View 21 — At Lake Mead, Rebekah Fuller scored 16 points to lead the Eagles over the Saints.
Shelbi Shaw scored 15 points for the Eagles, who took a 34-14 lead into halftime.
Jordan Spriggs had 11 points for the Saints.
Coronado 47, Silverado 33 — At Coronado, Haley Tyrell scored 20 points as the Cougars outscored the Skyhawks 12-4 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Aeryn Hawkins added 18 points for Coronado, which led 35-29 after three quarters.
