ROUNDUP: Hamrick, Pahrump girls edge Western in double overtime
Megan Hamrick’s jumper midway through the second overtime Friday helped Pahrump Valley’s girls basketball team outlast visiting Western, 50-47 in double overtime.
Hamrick finished with 14 points and nine rebounds for the Trojans, who used timely free-throw shooting to rally from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Ashley Lindgren added 11 points and Alyson Kunzi had 10 for Pahrump.
Daresheoun Lee paced Western with 17 points, and teammate Michelle Simon scored 13.
Bishop Gorman 81, Sierra Vista 48 — At Gorman, Aaryn Ellenberg scored 20 points to lead the Gaels to an easy win over the Mountain Lions.
April Rivers had 18 points, and Amber Lane added 13 for Gorman.
Jeanette Jackson scored 17 points and A’Yanna Johnson contributed 10 for Sierra Vista.
Bonanza 55, Desert Oasis 46 — At Desert Oasis, Alice Pitts hit 8-of-9 free throws in the fourth quarter as the Bengals downed the Diamondbacks.
Pitts led Bonanza with 23 points. Daytril Beals scored 12 points and Christy Andrews added 10 points for the Bengals.
Tatiana Kearn hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for Desert Oasis.
Durango 49, Clark 30 — At Durango, Cherelle Hicks had 18 points and nine rebounds to help the Trailblazers defeat the Chargers.
Jacquelin Garcia scored 11 points to pace Clark, which was unable to rally from a 12-3 first-quarter deficit.
Centennial 73, Mojave 49 — At Mojave, Alexis Byrd poured in 31 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Rattlers.
Shannon Brown added 17 points and Courtney Hayes chipped in 14 for the Bulldogs.
Clarissa Cannon paced Mojave with 15 points. Jazzmine Robinson scored 12 and Ivionne Reece had 10 for the Rattlers.
Legacy 65, Cimarron-Memorial 29 — At Cimarron, the Longhorns led 23-5 after the first quarter and cruised past the Spartans.
Aubriana Hayes and Breanah Manley each scored 10 points to lead Legacy.
Chalon Henderson led Cimarron with 12 points.
Arbor View 42, Shadow Ridge 35 — At Arbor View, Erika Lang scored 24 to power the Aggies past the Mustangs.
Shadow Ridge opened the game on a 13-0 run, but was held to a combined six points in the middle quarters.
Angelina Almagure scored 12 points, and Elisha Hensey added 10 for the Mustangs.
Palo Verde 55, Cheyenne 50 — At Cheyenne, Alyssa Amoruso scored 15 points to help the Panthers edge the Desert Shields.
Kady Lay added 14 points for Palo Verde, which blew a big first quarter lead and was forced to rally in the final three minutes.
Hannah Tatum led Cheyenne with 14 points. Taryn Hicks added 13 points for the Desert Shields.
Basic 71, Del Sol 19 — At Basic, Kailai Brantner had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Wolves routed Del Sol.
Michaela Thomas poured in 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and teammate Marquichea Burns had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Basic, which led 12-1 after one quarter and 38-6 at the half.
Green Valley 86, Tech 44 — At Green Valley, Jazmine Jarvis scored 26 and Sarah Pickus had 19 as the Gators routed the Roadrunners.
Shavon Stevens added 16 points, and Danielle Christenson supplied 14 for Green Valley, which blitzed to a 30-4 first-quarter lead.
Julie Harless scored 19 points, and Mesha Phillips contributed 12 for Tech.
Silverado 53, Coronado 52 — At Coronado, Shea Collins scored 20 points, including the go-ahead free throw with 10 seconds remaining to help the Skyhawks earn a 53-52 road win over the Cougars.
Alena Evans scored 12 points and Natalie Lainhart supplied 11 for Silverado.
Caitlin Frost led Coronado with 15 points. Lexi Melone added 12 points, but had a 3-point attempt fall short at the final buzzer.
Liberty 50, Foothill 44 — At Foothill, the Patriots forced turnovers on eight consecutive Foothill possessions to start the second half and rallied to defeat the Falcons.
Jade Washington scored 25 points for Liberty.
Alysse Thummel scored 12 points, and teammate Bri Higgins added 10 points for Foothill.
Virgin Valley 36, Boulder City 24 — At Mesquite, Jenelle Weythman scored 10 points as the Bulldogs took an early 12-4 lead and held off Boulder City.
Jessi Forrester scored 11 points and Karlee Koopman added 10 for the Eagles.
Needles 84, The Meadows 14 — At Needles, Calif., Miranda Brackett scored 25 points, and Needles held The Meadows scoreless in the first half on its way to an easy victory.
Alex Chandler had 16 points and Heather Rowe added 10 for Needles, which led 54-0 at the half and 64-2 after three quarters.
Calvary Chapel 70, Agassi Prep 61 — At Calvary Chapel, Anna Duerden poured in 30 points to lift the Lions to a win over the Stars.
Samantha Mann added 22 points for Calvary Chapel, which took control with a 27-10 advantage in the third quarter.
Kayla Johnson led Agassi Prep with 27 points. Alannah Conway chipped in 20 points and LaBrishun Hardwick had 10 for the Stars.
White Pine 42, Mountain View 41 — At Mountain View, Brianna Marruffo’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer tied the game at the end of regulation but failed on a potential game-winning shot as time expired in the first overtime period as the Bobcats edged the Saints.
Marruffo led all scorers with 16 points and Patrice Marshall had 11 points for Mountain View.
Samantha Hibbs scored 10 points for White Pine.
Lincoln County 89, West Wendover 47 — At Panaca, Marissa Smerek hit six 3-pointers on her way to 40 points to help the Lynx rout the Wolverines.
Kori Gloeckner scored 16 points, and Melanie Florence had 14 points and 18 rebounds for Lincoln County.
Danika Sharp paced West Wendover with 32 points.
Pahranagat Valley 51, Round Mountain 26 — At Round Mountain, Hallie Lewis scored 20 points to lead the Panthers past the Knights.
Dakota Day and Catelyn Sanders each added 11 points for the Panthers.
Katrena Akers led the Knights with 16 points.
Trinity 61, Sandy Valley 13 — At Trinity, Andrea Martinez scored 22 points to lead Trinity to an easy win over Sandy Valley.
Rene Calero added 17 points, and Brittany Kersenbrock had 12 for the Thunder.
Lund 48, Tonopah 31 — At Lund, Ale Vega scored 22 points to lead the Mustangs past the Muckers.
Melynda Boren had 19 points and seven rebounds for Lund.
Amanda O’Donnell paced Tonopah with 12 points.
