ROUNDUP: Hazelton hits game-winner to lift Desert Pines girls past Desert Shields

Jade Hazelton scored the game-winning basket with six seconds left Tuesday to lead Desert Pines’ girls basketball team to a 57-56 win over visiting Cheyenne.

Rayven Thomas had 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Cydney Myles supplied 18 points for the Jaguars. Hazelton finished with four points.

Noni Barree led Cheyenne with 20 points. Amanee Buckins scored 11 points, and Bria Buchanan added 10 points for the Desert Shields.

Arbor View 53, Legacy 48 — At Arbor View, Janae Strode had 13 points and five rebounds, and the Aggies rallied from a 31-26 halftime deficit to down the Longhorns.

Ariona Gill added 10 points, and Dana Lewis grabbed 15 rebounds for Arbor View.

Deja Brown had 16 points, and Tori Payne scored 15 for Legacy.

Western 76, Eldorado 70 — At Western, point guard Capricia Pierce tallied 29 points and 10 rebounds, and teammate Destiny Gonzalez provided 24 points and 20 rebounds as the Warriors held off a late charge by the Sundevils.

Teneya Williams added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Western, which led 61-43 entering the fourth quarter.

Eldorado’s Denisheun Jackson led all scorers with 33 points. Desia Walker supplied 18 points, and Allyah Swain scored 16 for the Sundevils.

Centennial 61, Coronado 47 — 
At Centennial, Shelby Valentine tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds to guide the Bulldogs by the Cougars.

Tamera Williams scored 14 points, and Teirra Hicks had 11 points for Centennial, which grabbed a 30-17 halftime lead.

Ashley Johnson had 14 points, and Sofie Cruz scored 13 for Coronado.

Canyon Springs 64, Durango 41 —
At Canyon Springs, Alexia Thrower had 18 points and 16 rebounds to help the Pioneers roll past the Trailblazers.

Daijhan Cooks added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Canyon Springs, which outscored Durango 43-25 in the second half. Cherise Beynon had nine points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Pioneers.

Jazmine Chavez led the Trailblazers with nine points.

Bonanza 65, Sierra Vista 37 — At Sierra Vista, Saniah Simpson scored 20 points to help the Bengals defeat the Mountain Lions.

Tranee Jenkins helped Bonanza with 14 points. Tanganika Hunt scored 12, and Alyssa Powers added 10 points for the Bengals.

Melia Tadytin led Sierra Vista with 17 points.

Bishop Gorman 61, Faith Lutheran 30 — At Gorman, April Rivers scored 21 points to lead the Gaels to an easy win over the Crusaders.

Tonishia Childress added 17 points for Gorman, which led 35-12 at halftime and held Faith Lutheran to one point in the fourth quarter.

Julia Benko scored 14 points for Faith Lutheran.

Cimarron-Memorial 50, Shadow Ridge 30 —
 At Shadow Ridge, Ikia Daniels had 17 points, and the Spartans grabbed a 29-13 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Mustangs.

Emily Cox added 13 points for Cimarron.

Kaila Hurley paced Shadow Ridge with nine points.

Silverado 54, Del Sol 32 — At Silverado, A.J. Hodas scored 17 points to lead the Skyhawks past the Dragons.

Brittany Loguidice added 14 points for Silverado, which outscored Del Sol 22-7 in the third quarter.

Rela Coleman scored 10 points to lead Del Sol.

Rancho 46, Palo Verde 28 — At Rancho, LaKissa Martin had 13 points, and the Rams sprinted to a 14-2 first-quarter lead on their way to a win over the Panthers.

Kanosha Grey added 12 points for Rancho.

Ivana Ganeva led Palo Verde with seven points.

Moapa Valley 54, Lake Mead 34 — At Overton, Makayla Jackson and Breanna Harding led a balanced attack with nine points apiece as the Pirates topped the Eagles.

Shelbie Grey had eight points and 17 rebounds for Moapa Valley, which led 30-13 at the half.

Taylor Badua-Kono led Lake Mead with 18 points.

Needles 51, Palo Verde Valley (Calif.) 38 —
At Needles, Calif., Abby Chandler scored 29 points to help the Mustangs top the Yellowjackets.

Caitlyn Courtwright added nine points for Needles, which used a 24-11 halftime advantage to pull away.

Pahranagat Valley 39, Mountain View 25 — At Mountain View, Traci Strong tallied 14 points, and the Panthers used a 13-4 second-quarter run to top the Saints.

Kiley Murphy led Mountain View with seven points.

Sandy Valley 22, Adelson School 16 — At Sandy Valley, Breanna Cripe scored nine points, and Cristian Auer added eight points to lead the Sidewinders by the Lions.

Ale Gibson paced Adelson School with seven points.
