ROUNDUP: Higgins, Harless help Foothill girls clinch top seed with win over Coronado

Bri Higgins and Julie Harless each scored 15 points Monday to help Foothill’s girls basketball team wrap up the Southeast League’s top seed for the Sunrise Region playoffs with a 53-43 win over visiting Coronado.

The Falcons (15-5, 12-0 Southeast) have a two-game lead over Liberty with two games remaining and would win a tiebreaker over the Patriots by virtue of Foothill’s season-series sweep of the third-place Cougars. Coronado split with Liberty.

Kealy Brown led Coronado with 12 points, and teammate Lexi Melone scored 11.

Western 35, Pahrump Valley 25 — At Pahrump, Brittany Moreland had 15 points as the Warriors clinched their first postseason berth since 2004 by downing the Trojans.

Mylasia Smith added 10 points for Western.

Bishop Gorman 68, Sierra Vista 27 — At Sierra Vista, April Rivers scored 17 points, and the Gaels secured the Southwest League’s top seed for the Sunset Region playoffs by blitzing the Mountain Lions.

Zhane Dikes added 10 points for Gorman.

Melia Tadytin paced Sierra Vista with 12 points.

Desert Oasis 60, Bonanza 27 — At Bonanza, Tatiana Kearn had 14 points, and the Diamondbacks used a 22-2 second-quarter run to put away the Bengals.

Brianna Osorio added 12 points for Desert Oasis.

Tanganika Hunt led Bonanza with 10 points, and teammate Jess Gallegos grabbed 16 rebounds.

Durango 66, Clark 40 — At Clark, Jasmine Thomas scored 13 points, and Brea Belser added 11 points to help the Trailblazers top the Chargers.

Bobbi Floyd scored 15 points for Clark. 

Centennial 79, Mojave 13 — At Centennial, Jada Brown scored 17 points as the Bulldogs wrapped up the Northwest League’s top seed for the Sunset Region playoffs with a rout of the Rattlers.

Shannon Brown and Tamera Williams each scored 14 points, and Breanna Workman added 12 points for Centennial.

Teaira Shorter led Mojave with 10 points.

Palo Verde 58, Cheyenne 41 — At Palo Verde, Jasmin Kiley had 13 points and seven assists to help the Panthers top the Desert Shields.

Mikayla Diers added 13 points, and Sinclair Johnson supplied 10 points for Palo Verde, which used a 32-9 run from the start of the second quarter until early in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

LaJuana Brown had 21 points for Cheyenne.

Legacy 61, Cimarron-Memorial 31 — At Legacy, Roberta Warren had 17 points, five rebounds and five assists off the bench as the Longhorns rolled the Spartans.

Taya Harper led Cimarron with 10 points.

Liberty 62, Del Sol 12 — At Liberty, Alena Evans had 11 points, and the Patriots bolted to a 45-9 halftime lead and cruised by the Dragons.

Jazmin O’Bannon added 10 points for Liberty.

Arbor View 41, Shadow Ridge 32 — At Arbor View, Ria Louch and Dani Chaney each scored 12 points to help the Aggies past Mustangs.

Rayven Thomas scored 12 points for Shadow Ridge.

Silverado 63, Tech 29 — At Silverado, Brittany Loguiduce scored 17 points, and the Skyhawks raced to a 15-2 first-quarter lead on their way to a win over the Roadrunners.

Jasmyn Garcia and Jessica Meyers each scored 11 points, and Daiva Kaempfer had 10 points for Silverado.

Kristena Wilson scored 16 points to lead Tech.

Virgin Valley 53, Spring Valley 49 — At Spring Valley, Abbie Barnard tallied 16 points to help the Bulldogs edge the Grizzlies.

Nikki Arquette added 13 points for Virgin Valley.

Jessica Stevens paced Spring Valley with 14 points, and teammate DeTiese Moore scored 13.
