ROUNDUP: Jordan, balanced Warrior girls top Grizzlies in OT
Jocelyn Jordan scored 22 points to lead all five starters in double figures and help Western’s girls basketball team pull away for a 78-68 overtime win over visiting Spring Valley on Friday.
Brittany Moreland collected 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Warriors, who outscored Spring Valley 15-5 in overtime.
Guadalupe Herrera chipped in 15 points, Aleya Ford-Wheaton added 13 points, and Mylasia Smith scored 10 for Western.
DeTiese Moore and Jessica Stevens each scored 18 points to pace Spring Valley, which got 12 points from Jana Espiritu.
Palo Verde 51, Legacy 42 — At Palo Verde, Jasmin Kiley scored 21 points to lift the Panthers past the Longhorns.
Lily Tapusoa added 16 points for Palo Verde, which led 41-26 after three quarters.
Tori Payne led the Longhorns with 11 points.
Centennial 85, Cheyenne 37 — At Centennial, Jada Brown had 15 points and 13 rebounds to help the Bulldogs roll by the Desert Shields.
Tamera Williams added 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Shannon Brown and Simone Barber each scored 10 for Centennial.
Cheyenne’s Noni Buckins led all scorers with 16 points, and teammate Brea Thompson added 10 points.
Faith Lutheran 66, Arbor View 36 — At Arbor View, Taylor Hammer scored 19 points to help the Crusaders down the Aggies.
Kelsey McCourt scored 16 points for Faith Lutheran, and Dani Tharaldson added 14 points.
Jena Valenzuela led Arbor View with 11 points.
Shadow Ridge 45, Mojave 24 — At Shadow Ridge, Vianne Perez scored 13 points, and Sabriya Brooks had 11 points as the Mustangs cruised past the Rattlers.
Teaira Shorter paced Mojave with 13 points.
Durango 54, Bonanza 49 — At Bonanza, Jasmine Thomas had a game-high 22 points, including nine in the fourth quarter and overtime, to allow the Trailblazers to edge the Bengals.
Darea’l Thomas added 10 points for Durango.
Alyssa Powers scored 18 points and Jessica Gallegos had six points, 16 rebounds and five blocks for Bonanza.
Desert Oasis 54, Pahrump Valley 15 — At Pahrump, Brianna Osorio scored 14 points to help the Diamondbacks cruise past the Trojans.
Sammi Tso added nine points for Desert Oasis, which led 34-5 at halftime.
E’Laishah Ramirez scored 10 points to lead Pahrump, which failed to score in the fourth quarter.
Bishop Gorman 70, Clark 22 — At Clark, Zhane Dikes had 12 points, seven rebounds and five steals to help the Gaels rout the Chargers.
Julia Ewalefo added 12 points and four steals, and Meghan Carter scored 10 for Gorman, which led 26-4 after the first quarter.
Bobbi Floyd had 11 points and three steals for Clark, which committed 37 turnovers.
Basic 53, Moapa Valley 45 — At Overton, Kailai Brantner scored 16 of her game-high 28 points in the first half and Dana Deloney finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds to help the Wolves past the Pirates.
Malary Reid had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Chanel LaCroix added 10 points for Moapa Valley.
Del Sol 63, Virgin Valley 58 — At Del Sol, Melissa DeSantiago had 14 points and Rela Coleman added 13 points to help the Dragons rally past the Bulldogs.
Kaleileihua Cabanas supplied 12 points for Del Sol, which trailed by eight with about 3:30 remaining when Desiree Orozco scored five straight points to launch the Dragons’ comeback.
Abbie Barnard poured in 20 points, and freshman Kourtney Metzger scored 10 to pace Virgin Valley, which jumped to an early 18-5 lead.
Boulder City 58, Silverado 53 — At Silverado, Taylor McKeever had 15 points, Mallory Bird scored 12, and Karlee Koopman added 10 points to lead the Eagles by the Skyhawks.
Jessica Meyers scored a game-high 24 points for Silverado.
Needles 64, Agassi Prep 40 — At Agassi Prep, Caitlyn Courtwright scored 18 points as the Mustangs downed the Stars.
Abby Chandler had 12 points and Cheyanne Alexander scored 10 for Needles, which led 15-1 after the first quarter.
Noelle Chavis scored 15 points for Agassi Prep.
Lincoln County 59, The Meadows 26 — At Panaca, Tia Florence had 12 points and Nicole Florence scored 10 to lead the balanced Lynx by the Mustangs.
Melaney Mayes scored nine points for The Meadows, which trailed 23-2 after the first quarter.
Mountain View 58, Laughlin 39 — At Laughlin, Briana Marruffo totaled 22 points and seven steals, and Rose Adkins added 15 points as the Saints pulled away from the Cougars.
Caitlyn Martin supplied 11 points for Mountain View, which used a 20-9 cushion in the second quarter to take control.
Destiny Anderson scored 11 to pace Laughlin.
Tonopah 58, Adelson School 13 — At Adelson School, Courtney Bottom scored 10 points to lead the balanced Muckers by the Lions.
Abri Perchetti and Deanna Van Poucke each scored eight points for Tonopah, which led 31-3 at halftime.
Camryn Armstrong led Adelson with six points.
Lund 43, Indian Springs 36 — At Lund, Melynda Boren tallied 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead the Mustangs past the Thunderbirds.
Alexxa Reinke scored 17 points to pace Indian Springs, which got 11 points from Heather Thormahlen.
