2016 record: 2-7 (0-5 Southeast League, sixth)

Returning starters: Five offense, five defense

Base offensive set: Spread

Outlook: The Cougars struggled offensively last season, and were held to 10 points or fewer four times.

But William Froman expects bigger things from his offense this season. He said the team is ready to open things up this season.

“(Offensive coordinator David Yacobuvich) really has our kids working and clicking and we love it,” coach Froman said. “He opened up the offense, and we can’t wait to torch people through the air.”

William Froman expects a big season out of Jones at tight end.

“(Jones) is a (Division I) tight end,” William Froman said. “He can run and stretch the field.”

His son, Billy, will anchor both lines.

“We’re big up front,” William Froman said. “I like our size.”
