Avery, Lynx blank Needles
Preston Avery ran for 81 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries and added an 82-yard kickoff return for a score Friday as Lincoln County blanked visiting Needles, 45-0.
Avery scored on runs of 12, 1 and 15 yards.
Lynx (5-1, 5-0 Division III Southern) quarterback Ryan Rippetoe completed 5 of 7 passes for 118 yards and two TDs.
Lincoln County’s Derek Cheeney caught a 15-yard TD pass and added 47 yards on nine carries.
