Desert Pines overpowers Rancho 51-0

Randal Grimes was 7-for-8 passing for 120 yards and two touchdowns Friday to lead Desert Pines to a 51-0 home win over Rancho.
Grimes played in place of Marckell Grayson, who is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Grimes added a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for Desert Pines (2-0), which had three touchdowns in a span of 4 minutes, 8 seconds to push its lead to 29-0.
Capri Uzan scored two touchdowns in the first half. He caught a 17-yard TD pass from Grimes, then returned an interception 40 yards for a score a little more than a minute later.
Eddie Heckard returned the second-half kick 59 yards for a touchdown, and Michael Lofton and Isaiah Morris each had touchdowns runs for the third-ranked Jaguars.
Rancho (0-1) managed just 37 yards of offense.
