Moore guides Grizzlies to win over Warriors
K.C. Moore completed 18 of 29 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns Friday to power Spring Valley to a 34-0 road win over Western.
Raheem Edmonds provided a 20-yard interception return for a score, and Moore recovered his own onside kick on the ensuing kickoff for Spring Valley (4-1, 2-1 Sunset League). Moore hooked up with Antony Vazquez on the next play for a 45-yard TD pass to give Spring Valley a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
Moore capped an 11-play, 70-yard drive with a 15-yard TD carry to give the Grizzlies a 21-0 lead at the half.
Spring Valley’s Kobie Robins blocked a punt on Western’s opening drive of the second half, and Moore found Vazquez in the end zone on the next play with a 10-yard TD slant pass to make it 28-0.
Edmonds rounded out the scoring with a 20-yard TD rush early in the fourth quarter.
Vazquez caught eight passes for 111 yards, and Tavion Smith supplied two sacks and an interception for Spring Valley.
Sha’Run Oliver had an interception, a fumble recovery, seven tackles and a sack, and Malik Dixon had 11 tackles for Western (0-5, 0-3), which got a 46-yard scamper from Steven Johnson.
