Mortensen, Pirates pound Cowboys
Moapa Valley’s Conner Mortensen rushed for 197 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries as the Pirates (6-1, 2-0 Division I-A Sunrise) routed visiting Chaparral (3-3, 0-2) 57-12 on Friday.
Sean McConnell added 157 yards and two TDs on seven carries for Moapa Valley, which had 460 yards rushing. Jake Repp added 54 yards and two TDs on six carries for the Pirates.
Jerome Williamson passed for 133 yards and a TD to lead Chaparral.
