Pirates hammer rival Bulldogs
Moapa Valley’s Sean McConnell rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on six carries and caught two passes for 27 yards and a TD as the Pirates (8-1, 4-0 Division I-A Sunrise) routed the rival Virgin Valley (4-4, 1-3) 47-6 Friday to retain the “Victory Hammer.”
Moapa Valley’s Conner Mortensen rushed 10 times for 92 yards and two TDs, and Kasen Hughes added 70 yards and two TDs on eight carries.
Josh Repp passed for 77 yards and a TD, and Jared Repp added a 31-yard TD for Moapa Valley.
Garrett Leavitt connected with Cristian Aguirre on a 26-yard TD pass on the final play for Virgin Valley.
