Preston Higbee throws 6 TDs as Pahranagat Valley wins blowout in state semifinal

Preston Higbee threw for six touchdowns as Pahranagat Valley’s football team routed the visiting Whittell in a Class 1A state semifinal game Friday, 54-6.
Higbee finished 10 of 15 passing for 172 yards. Brodey Maxwell caught two of Higbee’s touchdown passes, Richard Lewis caught two, and Hunter Hollingshead and Culen Highbe each caught one.
Lewis had seven tackles, and Maxwell had five tackles and an interception.
Spring Mountain will play Pahranagat Valley (11-0) will play Spring Mountain in the state title game next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Indian Springs. It will be a rematch of last year’s state championship, where the Golden Eagles (8-2) ended the Panthers’ national-record 104-game winning streak for eight-man football.
The Warriors completed their season 9-2.
