Solis nearly perfect as Cowboys rout Dragons
Chaparral’s Andrew Solis completed 6 of 7 passes for 182 yards and four touchdowns Friday to lead the Cowboys to a 49-0 road win over Del Sol.
Solis found Kentrell Petite for scores of 25 and 67 yards in the first quarter and added scoring passes to Richard Nelson (60 yards) and Adrian Zarate (6 yards) as Chaparral (3-2, 2-1 Sunrise League) opened up a 42-0 lead by halftime.
Nelson added a 35-yard touchdown on an interception return, and Jacob Ford and Richard Hernandez had rushing scores in the victory. Ford also chipped in 69 rushing yards on eight attempts.
Taariq Flowers led Del Sol (1-4, 1-2) with 51 rushing yards on 15 attempts.
