Virgin Valley’s defense hangs tough late in win over Spring Valley
Hogan Fowles ran for a touchdown and threw a 32-yard TD pass to Jaret Tietjen, and Virgin Valley’s football team hung on for a 24-20 win over Spring Valley in Mesquite on Friday.
Jayden Perkins, who ran for 124 yards on 34 carries, had a 15-yard TD run for Virgin Valley, which led 17-7 at halftime.
The Bulldogs (4-1) defense stopped Spring Valley at their 20-yard line on a fourth-and-4 play with a minute remaining to hang on for the victory.
K.C. Moore ran for a 2-yard touchdown and passed for two scores to lead Spring Valley.
Marquelle Diggs caught a 64-yard TD, and teammate Elijah Oldham added a 5-yard TD reception for the Grizzlies (1-2).
