Panthers’ Trent wins Pahrump Valley Invitational
Palo Verde junior Jack Trent shot even-par 72 on Friday at Mountain Falls Golf Club in Pahrump and hung on to win the Pahrump Valley Invitational tournament.
Trent, who shot 66 on Thursday, finished at 6-under 138, two strokes better than Eddy Lai of Bellarmine College Prep (California). Lai shot the day’s best round Friday with a 67.
Bellarmine nipped the Panthers for the team title, finishing with a two-round total of 596. Palo Verde had a team score of 598, Bishop Gorman was third at 613, followed by Arbor View at 663.
Gorman’s Owen Rosebeck was third individually at 146, and teammate Christian James was fourth at 148. Desert Oasis’ Syouta Wakisaka was fifth at 150.
