BOYS SOCCER: Basic downs Moapa Valley to halt 51-game losing streak

Ricardo Bravo had a goal and an assist Thursday as Basic’s boys soccer team edged visiting Moapa Valley 3-2 for the team’s first victory since 2011.

Brayden Hummel and Stephen De La Torre each added a goal for the Wolves, who last won on Oct. 19, 2011, when they defeated Liberty, 3-2.

Basic had lost a 51 consecutive games since tying Del Sol 1-1 on Oct. 17, 2012.

Israel Lopez scored both goals for the Pirates.

Canyon Springs 2, Sierra Vista 0 — At Canyon Springs, Chris Lopez scored twice as the Pioneers blanked the Mountain Lions.

Feliz Dominguez-Vera made two saves to get the shutout.

Palo Verde 9, Virgin Valley 1 — At Palo Verde, Henry Robledo-Matadamas finished with two goals and an assist, and Timothy Stevens scored twice to help the Panthers pound the Bulldogs.

Presten Manthey and Michael Vogel each had a goal and two assists, and Tyler Olenak added a goal and an assist for Palo Verde. Brian Montoya and Max Hulet scored the Panthers’ remaining goals.

Zechariah Ruffer had two assists for Palo Verde.

Oscar Cuellar scored Virgin Valley’s goal.

Green Valley 1, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Ethan Orme scored 15 minutes into the first half to give the host Grizzlies a tie with the Gators.

Green Valley had taken the lead on a goal by Estevan Uribe.

Bonanza 1, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Ricky Gomez’s goal in the second half helped the Bengals tie the Sundevils.

Mario Rocha scored in the first half off an assist from Jesus Meza for Eldorado.

Del Sol 5, Centennial 2 — At Del Sol, Ruben Nieves scored twice to lead the Dragons over the Bulldogs.

Erik Serrano added a goal and two assists, and Ruben Ortiz and Rafael Rodriguez each had a goal for Del Sol.

Adrian Martinez and Manny Lopez scored for Centennial, and teammate Quentin Scott added an assist.

Adelson School 2, Boulder City 1 — At Boulder City, Nevo Ziv scored twice, including the go-ahead goal in the second half, as the Lions edged the Eagles.

Jalen Pitts and Ben Elharrar added assists for Adelson School.

Hunter Dale converted a first-half penalty kick for Boulder City.
