BOYS SOCCER: Gonzalez’s second-half goal lifts Longhorns by Shadow Ridge
Oscar Gonzalez scored the winning goal in the second half Wednesday to lead Legacy’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over visiting Shadow Ridge.
Mario Adams also scored for the Longhorns.
Chase Castro scored for the Mustangs.
Durango 1, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Gorman, the Trailblazers’ Luis Cabrera and the Gaels’ Cobi DeLeon exchanged first-half goals as the teams played to a tie.
Green Valley 1, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Antonio Trama’s first-half goal lifted the Gators by the Rams.
Salvatore Hicks made four saves to earn the shutout for Rancho.
Desert Pines 2, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Oswaldo Medina had a goal and an assist, and Emmanuel Calo also scored to lead the Jaguars by the Dragons.
Geo Hernandez was in goal for the shutout.
Chaparral 3, Virgin Valley 1 — At Mesquite, Jose Morales scored two goals to guide the Cowboys past the Bulldogs.
Omar Miranda supplied a goal and an assist, and Aldo Skewes had two assists for Chaparral.
Moises Medina scored for Virgin Valley.
Coronado 5, Foothill 0 — At Coronado, Nick Fairchild scored two goals, and John Lynam added a goal and two assists to lead the Cougars by the Falcons.
Nick Killian also netted a goal, and Michael Ocoro had a goal and an assist for Coronado.
Nicolas Farinas made three saves en route to the shutout.
Tech 7, Moapa Valley 0 — At Heritage Park, Francisco Garcia had two goals and an assist to lead the Roadrunners by the Pirates.
Joel Velazquez, Eduardo Sanchez and Jaime Diaz each had a goal and an assist, and Chris Montiel and Hunter Kilgore also scored for Tech.
Tyler Harvey made one save en route to the shutout.
Eldorado 10, Basic 2 — At Basic, Heriberto Benitez scored three goals to lead the Sundevils in a rout of the Wolves.
Eddie Mercado scored twice, and Cesar Cruz, Edgar Cuevas, Henry Pena, Mario Rocha and Cesar Tapia each added a goal for Eldorado.
Topias Pennanen scored twice for Basic.
Palo Verde JV 8, The Meadows 0 — At Palo Verde, Connor Wattles scored three goals, and Arber Hoxhalli had two goals to power the Panthers’ junior varsity over the Lions.
Nick Vazeen, Anthony Gonzalez and Ethan Schutz also scored for Palo Verde.
Adam Zimmerman, Levi Lord and Todd Huizing combined on the shutout.
Sunrise Mountain 11, Boulder City 0 — At Boulder City, Musio Jimenez-Vazquez had four goals, and Hector Garibay scored twice as the Miners routed the Eagles.
Ivan Enciso, Ismael Arambula, Jose Arreola, Julian Herrera and Jonso Jimenez each added a goal for Sunrise Mountain.
Cesar Venegas and Adrian Zacarias combined on the shutout.
