BOYS SOCCER: Jimenez’s penalty kicks give Miners win over Roadrunners
Raciel Jimenez converted two second-half penalty kicks, including the go-ahead goal with 11 minutes left in the match Monday, to lift Sunrise Mountain’s boys soccer team to a 3-2 win over visiting Tech.
Jose Arreola also scored for the Miners.
Adolfo Guzman and Francisco Garcia scored for the Roadrunners.
Chaparral 1, Desert Pines 0 — At Chaparral, Aldo Skewes’ goal with five minutes to play lifted the Cowboys over the Jaguars.
Gerardo Skewes made five saves to earn the shutout.
Legacy 2, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Legacy, Luka Skrinjaric had a goal and an assist in the second half to help the Longhorns rally from a 2-0 halftime deficit and tie the Mustangs.
Jose Ramirez also scored for Legacy.
Dominic Damato scored twice for Shadow Ridge.
Coronado 2, Foothill 0 — At Coronado, Justin Lyons had a goal and an assist to lead the Cougars by the Falcons.
Jalen Randolph also scored for Coronado.
Austin Kost posted the shutout with six saves.
Mojave 2, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Eduardo Luna and Cristopher Pulido each scored once as the Rattlers topped the Desert Shields.
Gustavo Martinez was in goal for the shutout.
Virgin Valley 3, Del Sol 1 — At Mesquite, Moises Medina had two goals and an assist to help the Bulldogs down the Dragons.
Ulises Flores added a goal and an assist for Virgin Valley.
Diego Flores-Diaz scored for Del Sol.
Bishop Gorman 4, Durango 2 — At Gorman, Jake Bickford scored three goals to power the Gaels over the Trailblazers.
Cobi DeLeon added a goal and an assist for Gorman.
Jovany Vasquez scored both goals for Durango.
Boulder City 4, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Hunter Dale scored twice, and Victor Andrades had a goal and two assists to lead the Eagles by the Pirates.
Justin Fox also scored for Boulder City, which played shorthanded for the final 70 minutes of the match after receiving a red card.
Barrett Cowdrey made three saves to earn the shutout.
Green Valley 5, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Antonio Trama had two goals and an assist as the Gators blanked the Rams.
Austin Quirt added two goals, and Alessandro Sanchez also scored for Green Valley.
Bryant Peralta made six saves to record the shutout.
Eldorado 8, Basic 0 — At Basic, Alexis Soto had three goals and two assists as the Sundevils defeated the Wolves.
Israel Hernandez added two goals and an assist, and Marlon Vidales had a goal and two assists for Eldorado, which also got goals from Jonathan Moncayo and Christian Chavarria.
Omar Ramirez and Roberto Nunez combined on the shutout.
