BOYS SOCCER: Manny Lopez records hat trick to lead Centennial to win
Manny Lopez had three goals and an assist Thursday to lead Centennial’s boys soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Las Vegas in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic at Cimarron-Memorial.
Adrian Martinez added a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs, who led 2-0 at the half.
Goalkeeper Jacob Mays had the shutout.
Chaparral 2, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Leo Gutierrez had a goal and an assist as the Cowboys downed the Mountain Lions in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.
Ivan Topete also scored for the Chaparral.
Sierra Vista’s Zekarias Kassaye scored on an assist from Tanner Erwin.
Cimarron-Memorial 4, Liberty 0 — At Cimarron, Dresdan Quackenbush and Arturo Bahena each had a goal and an assist to lead the Spartans over the Patriots in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.
Erick Cuevas and Marco Mejia each added a goal for Cimarron, which led 2-0 at the half.
Dylan Crosby-Moghadam earned the shutout.
Palo Verde 2, Foothill 1 — At Green Valley, Michael Vogel and Henry Robledo-Matadamas scored second-half goals to lift the Panthers over the Falcons in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.
Reagan Mugume scored Foothill’s goal.
Arbor View 4, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Nicklaus Dongmann had a goal and an assist as the Aggies downed the Rattlers in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.
Jesse Pierce, Gabriel Lopez and Zachary Breaz each scored for the Aggies.
Marcos Martinez had two assists for Arbor View.
Chris Reyes scored for Mojave.
Green Valley 3, Spring Creek 0 — At Green Valley, Byron Andrade, Cole Aronson and Estevan Uribe scored for the Gators in their victory over the Spartans at the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.
Elyjah DeLeon had two assists, and Dominic Mesa added an assist for Green Valley, which led 2-0 at halftime.
Deven Scott made two saves to record the shutout.
Tech 3, Legacy 1 — At Tech, Andres Santana scored two goals as the Roadrunners rallied past the Longhorns.
Eduardo Gomez also scored for Tech. Eduardo Lopez-Garcia, Gabriel Aguilar and Joel Velazquez each had an assist.
Legacy took a 1-0 lead on Oscar Gonzalez’s first-half goal, but the Roadrunners scored twice in the first 11 minutes of the second half to take control.
Durango 3, Western 1 — At Durango, Christopher Hernandez scored a first-half goal to give the Trailblazers the lead for good in their win over the Warriors.
Oscar Rodriguez and Alfredo Robles-Rodriguez each added a goal for Durango.
Juan Estrada scored for Western.
Eldorado 10, Basic 1 — At Basic, Mario Rocha scored three goals as the Sundevils routed the Wolves.
Jesus Mesa scored twice for Eldorado, which scored six goals in the second half.
Andres Mendoza, Jose Benitez, Diego Castellanos, Francisco Ulloa-Tapia and Roberto Gonzalez each added a goal for the Sundevils.
Ricardo Bravo scored for Basic.
