BOYS SOCCER: Medina’s second-half goal breaks tie, lifts Virgin Valley
Moises Medina’s goal 17 minutes into the second half Wednesday broke a 1-1 tie and lifted Virgin Valley’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over Boulder City in Mesquite.
Gabe Medina scored the other goal for the Bulldogs.
Yann Moncayo had the Eagles’ goal.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Cimarron, Scotty Robles and Nico DeLaTorre each had a goal and an assist as the Spartans blanked the Gaels.
Gustavo Ortega also scored for Cimarron.
Richard Crews had five saves en route to the shutout.
Cheyenne 2, The Meadows 0 — At Cheyenne, Derian Mendieta and Johnny Ramos each had a first-half goal to help the Desert Shields top the Mustangs.
Oscar Ochoa made six saves to earn the shutout.
Legacy 2, Desert Oasis 1 — At Legacy, Skyler Ibarra and Jose Ramirez each had a goal as the Longhorns nipped the Diamondbacks.
Zach Wood scored for Desert Oasis.
Bonanza 3, Centennial 3 — At Bonanza, Victor DeLeon had a goal and an assist to help the Bengals rally to earn a tie with the Bulldogs.
Frank Keller and Dainn Garcia also scored for Bonanza, which trailed 2-1 at the half.
Eric Sanchez and Cobi Hunt both recorded a goal and an assist, and Pablo Gatti also scored for Centennial.
Western 4, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Western, Edwin Morales scored twice to lead the Warriors by the Crusaders.
Isaac Arellano and David Moctezuma also scored for Western.
Harut Khachoyan netted Faith Lutheran’s goal.
Chaparral 1, Desert Pines 1 — At Chaparral, Jose Morales’ second-half goal allowed the Cowboys to even the score with the Jaguars.
Desert Pines took advantage of an own goal to build a 1-0 halftime lead.
Mojave 5, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson School, Noe Garcia scored two goals, and Bryan Alvarez had a goal and two assists as the Rattlers defeated the Lions.
Ivan Martinez had a goal and an assist, and Cristopher Pulido also scored for Mojave.
Gulmaro Falcon was in goal for the shutout.
Clark 5, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Clark, Jose Martinez had two goals and an assist, and Alexis Lopez added two goals as the Chargers downed the Trojans.
Jose Munoz also scored for Clark, which led 2-1 at half.
Aaron Alcarez converted a penalty kick for Pahrump.
Tech 9, Moapa Valley 1 — At Overton, Derian Salcido had three goals, and Julio Vargas scored twice as the Roadrunners beat the Pirates.
Brandon Vargas had a goal and four assists, and Fabian Vera and Hugo Flores each added a goal and an assist for Tech, which also got a goal from Guillermo Flores.
Arturo Gutierrez scored for Moapa Valley.
