BOYS SOCCER: Paolo Sarnatoro’s shutout moves Durango into title game

Paolo Sarnataro made eight saves Saturday to lead Durango’s boys soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Centennial in the semifinals of the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic at Green Valley.

Oscar Rodriguez, Jamie Munguia and William Hailu each scored a goal for Durango.

The Trailblazers play Chaparral for the title at 6 p.m. on Monday. Chaparral and Arbor View tied 0-0 in the other semifinal, but the Cowboys advanced 4-3 on penalty kicks.

Durango 5, Tech 1 — At Green Valley, Christopher Barmasco and Marcos Delgado each had a goal and an assist as the Trailblazers beat the Roadrunners in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Rodriguez, Nicholas Lorza and Munguia also scored for Durango, which led 2-0 at the half.

Joel Velazquez had Tech’s goal.

Arbor View 5, Spring Creek 2 — At Green Valley, Jesse Pierce had three goals to power the Aggies over the Spartans in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Ethan Boone scored twice for Arbor View, and Nicklaus Dongman had three assists.

Chaparral 3, Palo Verde 2 — At Green Valley, Angelo Grossi scored with seven minutes to play to give the Cowboys the win over the Panthers in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Omar Miranda had a goal and an assist, and teammate Ivan Topete scored for Chaparral.

Zechariah Ruffer and Presten Manthey scored for Palo Verde.

Centennial 1, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Green Valley, Ahmed Green scored on a header to the back post in the 22nd minute to give the Bulldogs a tie with the Spartans in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Carsen Smith assisted on Green’s goal for Centennial.

Dresdan Quackenbush scored on a free kick in the ninth minute for Cimarron.

Mojave 2, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Adrian Perez had a goal and an assist as the Rattlers topped the Gators in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Perez scored early in the first half as Mojave took a 1-0 lead at the half. Jesus Ubario added a second-half goal for the Rattlers.

Jesus Angulo had the shutout.

Foothill 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Green Valley, the Falcons scored a pair of second-half goals to top the Mountain Lions in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Colton Cook, Trent Milne and Reagan Mugume each had a goal for Foothill.

Sierra Vista’s Daniel Perez scored on a penalty kick, and the game was tied 1-1 at the half.

Legacy 3, Western 0 — At Green Valley, Matthew Beasley scored twice as the Longhorns beat the Warriors in the Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic.

Diego Cuevas added a goal, and goalkeeper Oliver Garcia had the shutout.

Las Vegas 4, Liberty 1 — At Green Valley, Jonathan Macedo-Castellano and Mario Diaz each scored twice to lift the Wildcats over the Patriots in the Las Vegas Kick-Off Classic.

Faith Lutheran 1, North Valleys 1 — At Reno, the Crusaders advanced 4-2 on penalty kicks in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Hunter Richardson scored on an assist from Brock Hagee for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 1, Reno 1 — At Reno, Hagee scored for the Crusaders, and they advanced 4-2 on penalty kicks in the Howell Memorial Tournament.

Coronado 6, Boulder City 0 — At Boulder City, Preston Judd had two goals and two assists to help the Cougars top the Eagles.

John Lynam had a goal and two assists, and Alfredo Diaz and Monty Maldonado each added a goal and an assist for Coronado.

Dylan Thompson also scored for the Cougars, and Harrison Skinner had the shutout.
