BOYS SOCCER: R.J. Soriano’s two goals lift Liberty over Silverado
Liberty’s R.J. Soriano scored twice, including the go-ahead goal with 15 minutes remaining, to help the visiting Patriots down Silverado 2-1 on Wednesday.
Keanu Sanchez assisted on both of Soriano’s goals.
Liberty goalkeeper Ivan Rodriguez made two key saves in the final five minutes to preserve the lead.
Jaime Ayala netted a first-half goal for Silverado, assisted by David Matias-Flores.
Bishop Gorman 5, Desert Oasis 4 — At Gorman, Corrigan Neville scored four goals as the Gaels outlasted the Diamondbacks.
Justin Rasmussen had a goal and an assist for Gorman, which got assists from Brandon Malek, Alexander Daseler and Caden Buckley.
Dakota Jersic had a hat trick, and Haiko Hovak also scored for the Diamondbacks. Maclame Lee had two assists.
Durango 2, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, the Trailblazers recorded 22 shots on goal in their victory over the Grizzlies.
Jamie Munguia and Marcos Delgado converted two of those shots into goals, with both assisted by Christopher Bramasco.
Bum Cho scored for the Grizzlies, assisted by Cesar Estrada.
Coronado 2, Foothill 1 — At Coronado, Preston Judd scored a second-half goal on an assist from John Lynam to help lift the Cougars over the Falcons.
Lynam scored in the first half on an assist from Lincoln Aquino for Coronado.
Isaac Olsen scored on an assist from Trent Milne for Foothill.
Tech 3, Virgin Valley 1 — At Mesquite, the Roadrunners got two first-half goals, and added a goal in the second half to pull away from the Bulldogs.
Joel Velazquez, Andres Santana and Alex Mejia each scored for Tech.
Miguel Escobedo scored on an assist from Roman Perez for Virgin Valley.
Clark 1, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Alex Perez-Gonzalez’s second-half goal led the the Chargers over the Mountain Lions.
Tristan Polakowski recorded the shutout for Clark.
Kevin Medina had the assist on Perez-Gonzalez’s goal.
Boulder City 5, Moapa Valley 3 — At Overton, Sebastian Balmer’s hat trick powered the Eagles by the Pirates.
Robbie Leavitt and Patrick hood both scored for Boulder City, which led 5-0 at halftime. Hunter Dale had two assists.
For Moapa Valley, Israel Rubio had a goal and an assist, and Brian Robles and Ryan Sorrells both scored.
Green Valley 14, Basic 1 — At Basic, Pablo Pena scored five goals and had an assist in the Gators’ offensive explosion against the Wolves.
Cole Aronson scored two goals, and Estevan Uribe, Byron Andrade, Jose Vila Barrios, Dante Mariano, Dominic Mesa, Nick Alvarez and Chris Galdi each had one goal.
Andrade had three assists, and teammates Aronson, Uribe, Mariano and Elyjah DeLeon each had two assists for the Gators.
Stephen De La Torre scored Basic’s goal, assisted by Lorenzo Moreno.
