BOYS SOCCER: Shorthanded Foothill snaps Eldorado’s 34-match unbeaten streak

Robert Cowan’s short-handed goal with 17 minutes remaining in the match Thursday allowed visiting Foothill’s boys soccer team to upset No. 1 Eldorado, 2-1.

Aaryn Corneos also scored a second-half goal for the fifth-ranked Falcons, who trailed 1-0 at halftime and played the second half a man down after receiving a red card in the first half.

Israel Hernandez scored for the Sundevils, who had a 34-match unbeaten streak (31-0-3) snapped and lost for the first time since the end of the 2012 season.

Palo Verde 2, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Gorman, Nishesh Yadav had nine saves to earn the shutout as the Panthers topped the Gaels.

Connor Ryan and Jordan Mashal each scored in the first half for Palo Verde.

Shadow Ridge 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Alex Pacheco, Matthew Camacho and Daniel Anderson each scored a goal as the Mustangs topped the Trailblazers.

Nathan Kramer made nine saves to earn the shutout.

Tech 4, Del Sol 0 — At Heritage Park, Chris Montiel scored twice as the Roadrunners topped the Dragons.

Eduardo Sanchez and Hector Casillas each added a goal for Tech, which got two assists from Grant Samayoa.

Tyler Harvey made five saves to earn the shutout.

Sunrise Mountain 4, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, the Miners scored four second-half goals to beat the Bulldogs.

Jose Arreola, Enrique Pedraza, Adan Segovia and Marco Antonio Ruiz each had a goal for the Miners.

Carlos Cruz made six saves to earn the shutout.

Coronado 5, Green Valley 1 — At Coronado, John Limon scored three goals to lead the Cougars by the Gators.

Justin Lyons added a goal and three assists, and Daniel Martinez also scored for Coronado.

Maliq Cooper scored for Green Valley.

Rancho 6, Basic 0 — At Basic, Victor Gomez scored twice as the Rams blanked the Wolves.

Arturo Gutierrez, Jose Patricio-Monroy, Francisco Ramirez, and Yosmar Villafana also scored for Rancho.

Sergio Munoz earned the shutout for the Rams.

Desert Pines 7, Moapa Valley 0 — At Overton, Rodrigo Andrade scored three goals to help the Jaguars defeat the Pirates.

Angel Flores, Pablo Martinez, Alexis Rojo and Angel Vazquez also scored for Desert Pines.

Daniel Mendoza made three saves en route to the shutout.
