BOYS SOCCER: Vera’s late goal gives Roadrunners tie with Cowboys
Fabian Vera’s goal with four minutes to play Wednesday allowed Tech’s boys soccer team to earn a 2-2 tie with Chaparral at Heritage Park.
Adolfo Guzman also scored a second-half goal for the Roadrunners.
Gavynn Mossiah and Jose Morales scored for the Cowboys.
Palo Verde 2, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Nolan Sherwood had a goal and an assist in the first half, and the Panthers held off the Mustangs.
Presten Manthey also scored for Palo Verde.
Dominic Damato scored on a second-half free kick for Shadow Ridge.
Sunrise Mountain 2, Desert Pines 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Enrique Pedraza and Victor Castaneda each scored an unassisted goal in the first half to lead the Miners by the Jaguars.
Carlos Cruz made seven saves to earn the shutout.
Foothill 5, Green Valley 0 — At Foothill, Jackson Dietrich and Robert Cowan each had two goals and an assist to power the Falcons past the Gators.
Mason Reid added a goal and two assists for Foothill, which led 1-0 at the half.
Derek Lawson was in goal for the shutout.
Legacy 5, Durango 0 — At Durango, Jose Ramirez scored three goals to power the Longhorns by the Trailblazers.
Daniel Quinones had a goal and an assist, and Abraham Acevedo scored for Legacy, which got three assists from Matthew Beasley.
Juan Orpineda earned the shutout with nine saves for the Longhorns.
Del Sol 6, Boulder City 1 — At Del Sol, Diego Nieves had four goals and an assist as the Dragons downed the Eagles.
Jason Garza and Omar Garcia also scored for Del Sol.
Matthew Schmidt scored for Boulder City.
Virgin Valley 6, Moapa Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Moises Medina scored four goals to power the Bulldogs past the Pirates.
Gabe Medina had a goal and two assists, and Roman Perez also scored for Virgin Valley.
Domingo Ramirez and Hayden Johnson combined for the shutout for the Bulldogs.
Eldorado 11, Rancho 0 — At Eldorado, Israel Hernandez had three goals and an assist, and Marlon Vidales and Teague Bostic each scored twice to lead the Sundevils by the Rams.
Rodolfo Rojo had a goal and two assists, and Cesar Cruz, Eddie Mercado and Gabriel Pedraza also scored for Eldorado.
Omar Ramirez and Roberto Nunez combined on the shutout.
Coronado 11, Basic 0 — At Basic, Justin Lyons had eight goals and an assist to send the Cougars by the Wolves.
Alex Taylor added a goal and three assists, and Harrison Skinner recorded a goal and an assist for Coronado. Nick Fenton also scored, and Maxx Caso and Austin Kost each had two assists for Coronado.
Skinner and Logan Duffy combined for the shutout.
