ROUNDUP: Clark edges Spring Valley in boys soccer, clinches first place in Southwest League

Miguel Gonzalez and Javier Soliz scored second-half goals Tuesday as Clark’s boys soccer team clinched first place in the Southwest League with a 2-1 win over host Spring Valley.

The Chargers trailed 1-0 at the half before rallying for the win.

Vince Leon scored for Spring Valley.

Western 8, Desert Oasis 2 — At Western, Felipe Medina and Carlos Ponce each scored three goals as the Warriors defeated the Diamondbacks.

Juan Martinez added a goal for Western, which also got on the board via an own goal.

Andrew Pardo and Alex Vides scored for Desert Oasis.

Durango 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Francisco Bautista and Paul Morales each had a goal and an assist to help the Trailblazers beat the Mountain Lions and clinch a playoff spot.
Jason Haygarth also scored for Durango.

Demetrius Sturdivant had the Mountain Lions’ goal.

Bonanza 3, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Bonanza, John Milne, Frazier Berman and Alex Iorano each scored as the Bengals defeated the Trojans.

Jessie Madrid stopped 10 shots to earn the shutout for Bonanza.

Las Vegas 1, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jaime Toscano’s goal near the end of the first half proved to be enough as the Wildcats defeated the Pioneers.

Roger Zargoza stopped both Canyon Springs shots to earn the shutout.

Eldorado 3, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Omar Diaz, Moises Ramirez and Josh Cormier each scored as the Sundevils turned back the Cowboys.

Francisco Sanchez scored for Chaparral.

Desert Pines 3, Rancho 0 — At Desert Pines, Charlie Bonilla scored two goals to lift the Jaguars over the Rams.

Gerardo Romero also scored for Desert Pines.

Jorge Colin earned the shutout for the Jaguars.

Faith Lutheran 11, Lake Mead 0 — At Lake Mead, Ryan Sniezyk had three goals and three assists to help the Crusaders rout the Eagles.

Chris Ortwein and Tyler Koerwitz added two goals for Faith Lutheran, which led 7-0 at the half.

Jake Connell, Wade Norman, David Edson and Trevor Tuggle each scored once for the Crusaders, and Marc Davies got the shutout.

Boulder City 4, The Meadows 1 — At The Meadows, Trevor Montgomery scored two goals, one in each half, in the Eagles’ win against the Mustangs.

Boulder City’s Bradley Nilsen and Jack Broadbent also scored. Michael Smith and James Lucas had assists for the Eagles.

GIRLS

Faith Lutheran 5, Boulder City 0 — At Boulder City, Kari Moloney scored twice as the Crusaders stopped Boulder City and clinched the top seed for the Class 3A Southern League playoffs.

Audrey Swanson, Sydney Spoon and Justine Curtis also scored for Faith Lutheran.
