ROUNDUP: Jimenez’s second-half goal gives Tech narrow victory
Kevin Jimenez’s goal five minutes into the second half Thursday led Tech’s boys soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting Del Sol.
The Roadrunners’ Abdel Rodriguez made three saves to earn the shutout.
Basic 1, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Eric Crum gave Basic a 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the match, but the host Skyhawks rallied to earn a draw.
Julio Hermoza scored with two minutes left in the first half for Silverado.
Green Valley 3, Foothill 2 — At Green Valley, Tim Shue scored three goals to lift the Gators past the Falcons.
Christian Volesky scored both of Foothill’s goals.
Coronado 0, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, the Cougars and Patriots played to a scoreless tie.
Danny Sellitti had a shutout for Coronado.
Nathaniel Cregier made eight saves and got the shutout for Liberty.
Valley 1, Rancho 0 — At Valley, Julio Borjas’ first-half goal was the only scoring as the Vikings nipped Rancho.
Pedro Arias recorded the shutout for Valley.
Las Vegas 1, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Joaquin Rivas scored on a free kick with 10 minutes remaining to lift Las Vegas past the Sundevils.
Aaron Lopez recorded the shutout for the Wildcats.
Chaparral 4, Sunrise Mountain 0— At Chaparral, Salvador Cuellar scored two first-half goals and had an assist as Chaparral cruised to the 4-0 victory over Sunrise Mountain.
Luis Zavala and Mike Lopez also scored goals, and Christian Ayala had two assists for the Cowboys.
Anthony Lopez and Geovanny Chavez combined to earn the shutout for Chaparral.
Canyon Springs 2, Desert Pines 1— At Canyon Springs, Anthony Mondragon scored two goals — including the winner with 18 minutes to play — to lift the Pioneers past Desert Pines.
Carlos Sanchez scored for the Jaguars.
Virgin Valley 7, Moapa Valley 1 — At Mesquite, Carlos Cano scored three goals, and Pedro Carminatti had two goals and an assist to help Virgin Valley rout Moapa Valley.
Will Lara and Zaydt Mendez also scored for the Bulldogs, who picked up two assists from Joel Medina.
Emil Fleron scored for the Pirates.
Boulder City 3, The Meadows 2— At The Meadows, Daniel Andrades, Jon Lyon and Lane Williams scored a goal each as Boulder City edged the Mustangs.
Alex Karabachev and Corin Galati scored for The Meadows.
GIRLS
Pahrump Valley 6, Moapa Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Melissa Ewing scored three goals, and Janet Garcia had four assists to lead the Trojans past the Pirates.
Shelby Hughes, Leanne Morrow and Amber Dove also scored for Pahrump Valley.
Haley Williams had one save in the shutout.
Faith Lutheran 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Ahmie Amed had two goals and an assist as the Crusaders blanked Virgin Valley.
Carsen McBeath also scored for Faith Lutheran.
Kelly Zuffel and Jeff Forage combined on the shutout.
