ROUNDUP: Las Vegas blanks Chaparral, raises record to 8-0-2

Jaime Toscano and Dany Farias each scored in the first half to lead Las Vegas to a 2-0 boys soccer victory at Chaparral on Tuesday.

The Wildcats improved their record to 8-0-2 overall and hold a three-point lead over second-place Valley in the Northeast League.

Rogelio Zaragoza earned the shutout for Las Vegas.

Eldorado 2, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Moises Ramirez scored in each half to lift Eldorado over the Pioneers. Alberto Alvarez made three saves for the shutout.

Valley 2, Desert Pines 1 — At Valley, the Vikings scored twice in the final 15 minutes to beat the Jaguars.

Allen Acre-Guevare and Vidal Ruiz scored for Valley. Ruiz’s goal on a penalty kick was the game-winner. Mena Mekhail had an assist for the Vikings.

Desert Pines’ lone goal came from Gerodo Romero.

Bishop Gorman 1, Spring Valley 0 — At Bishop Gorman, Jake O’Rourke made 10 saves to earn a shutout as the Gaels nipped Spring Valley. Cody Barnett scored in the first half.

Sierra Vista 4, Desert Oasis 3 — At Sierra Vista, Christian Cruz scored twice and Christian Djordjevic had a goal and two assists to help the Mountain Lions outlast Desert Oasis.

Peter Omosa also scored for Sierra Vista.

Andrew Pardo, Jose Ramirez and Axel Casas scored for the Diamondbacks.

Durango 3, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Pahrump, Paul Morales’ penalty kick proved decisive in the Trailblazers’ victory over the Trojans.

Durango’s Arjenis Bautista and Francisco Bautista scored in the first half.

Jerret Holley and Daimon Nelson scored for Pahrump.

Faith Lutheran 10, Lake Mead 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Ryan Sniezyk compiled four goals and two assists as the Crusaders routed the Eagles.

Tyler Koerwitz added three goals, and Trevor Tuggle had a goal and two assists. Chris Ortwein and Rob Bethel also scored, and

Marc Davies and Murad Ahmed combined on the shutout in net.

Boulder City 1, Virgin Valley 1 — At Virgin Valley, the Bulldogs’ Austin Cloes scored eight minutes into the match, but Boulder City’s Jeff Dunn countered with a goal midway through the first half.
